So hey guys, I built up my Frigate a day ago and haven't fully attached the balloons or men yet for ease of painting. But upon attempting to fit it onto the base (without gluing because no way am I doing that), and the weight of the ship is simply not supported by a dry fit ball socket.

So i'm trying to find a solution...

I went out to buy a bicycle spoke and i'm thinking of gluing a plastic tubeto it and fitting it into a second plastic tube into the hull of the ship where the ball socket would be via drilling and some green stuff.

I'd rather have a simpler alternative though...

Any suggestions?

Your pictures do not work but I can see the issue nevertheless.

I haven't used stock flyer bases in years. Go to ebay and search clear acrylic rod and you are sorted. I use 3mm rod to replace any small flying stands. I don't have any big flyers, but I believe 5 or 6mm should do fine. You may also need a suitable size drill bit to attach the rod to the model and some plastic battlefield debris to support the rod on the base (Large base detail kits come handy in this).

I am tempted to build a small Kharadron Overlords army simply because I like painting metallics and building my own flyer bases.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.
