I have been thinking about starting a narrative campaign but have trouble coming up with a world or system to use that does not have a major event already happening and actually exists in the universe. What do you guys do to solve this issue/find a world you can use that doesn't clash with the current lore?

What armies will the players in the campaign be using? It is easier to select a location if you are looking for a specific point where certain factions would be able to cross paths.

Currently looking at Ynnari/Aeldari, Space Wolves, and Orks. Though general guidance can also help for future reference.

Well, you can basically keyboard bash a name for a planet of your own that would be located next to Cadia or Baal or whatever you find entertaining.
If you really want a world that already exists, then you can make references to it without necessery have to struggle with anything too specific. At least that's how i'd do.
Hope it helps somehow.

Well if it were me this would be my train of thought:
- Out of those three Space Wolves and Eldar are the ones with homeworlds whilst Orks are more likely to come to you for a fight
- Space Wolves currently have the remnents of a Daemonic incursion plaguing their system
- Because of the Space Wolves weakened state the Eldar may take the chance to recover some kind of old relic from the system
- The Orks would be drawn to the system because of all the fighting
- Alternatively the same kind of events could be taking place in one of the systems that the Space Wolves are charged with protecting
- Another idea could be that the Space Wolves enter the webway looking for Russ after the return of the Wolfen (although it is more likely they'd go looking in the warp)
- They could end up on a Craftworld and they might have been followed by Orks
The basic princible of starting a campaign is to come up with some way the participants may want to interact or find something that one particpant has that the others want.

I actually really like the idea of the Eldar trying to recover a relic from the Fenris System while the Space Wolves are fighting off a new Ork incursion. Thanks for the help! I can find a way to have it recognizable without needing to relate too much with actual events going on.

If you can get your hands on it, the old battlemission book from 5th is pretty good at giving you a lot of missions that can when tweaked work as a great way to start a campaign.

Another option: set your campaign sometime other than 999.M41. Ten thousand years is a lot of time, and not much of it has been fleshed out even in many of the big name systems.
