I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake by buying into the SC Seraphon - I was going to start expanding this army, but I notice that a lot of the units I'm interested in picking up are "No Longer Available" (such as the Troglodon/Carnosaur that comes in the SC box) or "Temporarily Out of Stock" (most of the Wizards & the Stegadon - the one model I was reaaaaaally wanting).

Is this army being discontinued or did I just happen to hit the GW stock inventory at the wrong time?

They definitely aren't being discontinued.

I think what may have happened with respect to that particular kit (Carnosaur/Trog dual kit) is that it is no longer sold as a single kit but rather only available in the Start Collecting: Seraphon bundle.
To date it is actually one of the best value SC kits from a $$$ perspective. You're basically getting the Cold One Cav and Saurus Warriors combined for less that half of what it would cost you if you bought their respective box sets individually.

Warhammer is the right of all sentient nerds!

Agreed, I wouldn't worry about them being discontinued, they are a pretty popular army... fun to play as well

The carnosaur kit was the same cost as the SC box. Would you rather pay $85 for a carnosaur? Or a carnosaur, 8 cav, and 16 infantry? It seems like a pretty clear cut thing to me!!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

They also feature very heavily (even if as side actors) in many of the battletomes and campaign books, i think. so they be here to stay.

Honestly, I would think most companies would realize they need to reduce the cost of the one kit, rather than discontinue it...

Anyways, thanks for the replies folks. Painting is coming along slowly (doing the Carnosaur first), also picked up a box of skinks to models as devotees of Ptoo'he (blowgun users). Got a Stegadon on the way, should be here by Wed. Eventually, hoping to pick up some Pteradons, maybe a skink wizard. Gads, GW makes these models look so awesome, hope I can at least do the models justice with my rather plain paint jobs.

Another question ... I've got the original download of the AoS lizardman list, and have also downloaded the updated PDF warscrolls. Is there any differences between the original list and the individual PDF's

Politics. They have sworn to stake holders not to do price reduction. However that applies to existing kits so nothing stops them from releasing new box with discount. This way they can reduce certain kit prices and not break their commitment to "not reduce prices".
