Hey guys, as the title says I just came back recently into the hobby through AoS but decided to start a necron army for 8th ed. I'm not an amazing painter but I can do something good enough for tabletop.
I've been trying to get my necron warriors to look as close as I can to the ones on the box but I think I'm doing something wrong.
I usually do:
black spray primer ----> leadbelcher---> nuln oil ---> ironbreaker on most of the parts but not recesses ---> dry brushing of necron compound (after this possibly runefang steel highlight)
Not sure if that would be a good order, I've seen people doing nuln oil after ironbreaker and not using the dry brushing or do the drybrushing only after primer and more. What you suggest to get them close to the box?
Also the green parts I do
primer ---> caliban green --> warpstone green ---> moot green
but I think to get the correct color I should be using something like waywatcher glaze or biel tan shade or maybe even nuln oil on caliban but I don't know again how to get the same transition as the box (well, as best as my skills get me there). I think they use flash gitz yellow and blend the colors with a glaze but can't replicate it yet
If you guys could give me a few pointers on these 2 it would be amazing. I wanted to take pictures but my phone is crappy and darkens everything so it would look nowhere near what it is in reality...
