I've been spending the past several months designing, collecting, and preparing to make a Renegade/Guardss army whose models I can use as CSM cultist.
I've collected Imperial Guards, Mantic pathfinders, Maelstrom's Edge contractors, Skitarii Rangers, Wargames Factory Greatcoats, Dreamforge riflemen, Defiance Games USMC, and loads of other bits including tau, beastmen, chaos warriors, etc. Whilst I'm not going to officially begin to build my army yet, I had some time today to cobble up some test models.

The reason I didn't just collect guardsmen or cultist because they're so bland. I've seen them a hundred times before and I wanted my army to look a bit more exciting and different - pardon my special snowflake syndrome. I also fell in love with Greatcoat helmets when I first saw them - they were just so Helghast, very fitting to the 40k setting. USMC bodies are also just so cheap, shame the head and the arms are so shoddy. I'll probably use them as bloody decoration for my orks and khorne list.

These guys will be the common guardsmen/renegade infantry/ cultist of my army. Heads and arms come from Greatcoats, and body and legs come from USMC Marines. I quite like how it ended up. However, there are some very glaring issues. The size between the 2 models I used is a bit wonky, and the mold lines on the legs are pretty bad.

What are your thoughts.
Also if anyone out there have any Defiance Games USMC Marines, message me because I am very interested in acquiring more bodies.
