Hi guys!
I've got a weak ass battle report for you today. Problem is I'm pretty new and i can't remember what my IG friend brought, not that i know what they're called either. I thought I'd go through my thoughts on my list.

Here's a quick batrep.

Round 1. I went first. Genestalers with TS got into combat with a unit of 50 conscripts, they had -1 to hit and the genestalers had the 5+ fnp psychic power, they also had help from hive commander to make it all the way over. and plowed through over half of the conscripts. The other unit of genes failed their charge from the trygon cave, but the trygon made his charge and killed a tank. Deathleaper also killed some character on the right flank so the ones on that side couldn't give order witch were pretty nice. Swarmlord, tyrant guard and venomthropes follwed up, but the 4" move+advance made them lag behind already in round 1.

IG went to work thinning out genestealers.

Round 2. 1 unit of genes were really thinned out even with fnp.

fucit i'll just jump to the end. Round 3 I stared retreating it was 4 points to me and he had 1. Round 3-4 he gained the board control drew some lucky cards killed my swarmlord and ended up op 6 pts. we ended the game there.

Here is what i learned from the game. I didn't have enough to pouch through with genes are awesome, but they coundt take 2K IG by themselves. Horms are nice for doing a bit of damage but mainly for binding enemies and making them fall back. CC Carnifexes never made it into combat. Never gonna bring them again against a shooty army. I thought they would be good to withstand a lot of small arms fire, but they never got close enough to charge. They could have charged some conscripts round 3, but it was too late. i thought i'd try to hold on ty my 4 points and stay alive. So thats 340 pts i didn't use. venomthropes were useless, never gonna bring them unless i want to bring slow shooty infantry. Trygon again were a bit meh. A mawlock would do the same job in scaring the enemy and create something for them to shoot at, distract them from your important units and genestealers don't need the tunnel imho. Deathleaper weren't really worth his points either, he killed the character he was set on, but that was all he did. and he was worth half of his points. If my opponent didnt box his WL in conscripts and i'd be able to target him then he would have been worth it.

If i play this army again I'll bring more faster units. more genestealers and hormagaunts, a mawloc instead of trygon. no venomthropes, no deathleaper, no carnifexes. 3 biovores for holding backfield objectives generating 1 command point if i bring another HQ.

Here's my list:

Genestealers (20) - Toxin sacs

Broodlord

Genestealers (20)

The Swarmlord

Venomthropes (3)

Tyrant Guard (3)

Hormagaunts (30) - Adrenal glands

Trygon (1) - 175pts - Toxinspike

Old One Eye

Carnifexes (2) -Two pairs of monstrous scything talons,Thresher scythe

Deathleaper
