It looks like all of the detachments have one restriction; that is every unit must be from the same faction (or rather, share a faction).

Just to clarify, does this mean that you can take ONE detachment that includes models from multiple armies? It's completely legal to take a Supreme Command Detachment (3-5 HQ) with Celestine, Commissar Yarrick, and Logan Grimnar because they all share the "Imperium" faction?

I'm not trying to make a dumb, WAAC list - I'd just like to try mixing some psychic powers.

Thanks!

Matched Play requires all units in the army to have at least one Faction keyword in common.

That's what I thought. Gross.

So if we wanted to, we could take psykers from multiple armies and stack the various "debuff" powers.

Just a couple rolls and "that unit has -2 to hit everything, -3 leadership, always strikes last in combat, and can't fire overwatch". Good to know

yep chaos and imperium got it good with the books you can exactly do this.

Most of the buff powers are very specific about what keywords they effect though.

A lot of the detachments require hq's for chaos and imp its nice because say you want 3 units of termies in a vanguard you can do it and just buy some cheap inq or ig hq or a herald if ye running chaos.

Chances are though before you buy loads of new models that when the factions get their own book it'll probably be very advantageous to keep a detachment to whatever that book is e.g. ultramarines etc
