New expansion for the Cyberpunk board game. I got the original game, but never had the chance to play it yet.. but the minis are great. They were metal, but these are going to be PVC. I haven't backed yet, but probably will jump in toward the end if funds allow. It's just about to fund now...

PVC with an option for metal?

THAT is how you appeal to miniatures gamers. Excellent!

Yeah, it's just the heroes in metal though, but it's a nice touch .. and easy enough to offer something like that if you're doing all 3D sculpts. Hopefully they can do some of the other minis in metal too. I'm hoping the PVC minis will be nice enough, if they're like Blood Rage quality they should still be good.

You can get them all in white metal. That is the difference between the Hybrid Edition (£96) pledge and the Cyberpyscho (£108) pledge. The Cyberpyscho pledge has "all characters in white metal".

oh .. by characters I thought they meant just the heroes, and the rest would still be PVC.

Well at least they have everything in pvc and assembles (I think) the white metal didn't work for them as it was expected and as it was said to them by many.

Oh I can see where it could be perceived as that way. I'll ask to clarify but I took it as "everyone" was characters including the enemies.

It is definitely an interesting experiment to watch. I am not sure it was so much they were white metal as they were multi-piece and required assembly. Out of the 625 backers so far, 219 are in for white metal while 389 are in for plastic so roughly 35% liked the metal or at least prefer it. Personally, I'd prefer resin but I'd take metal or resin over plastic any day. Considering the detail on the miniatures was really good, spot on and equivalent to Infinity metal miniatures is great.

For a wargame, metal multipart mono posed, for a boardgame plastic monoposed assembled.

These are my preferences, but in the case of boardgames, its also the only way to have a commercial success, you only need to see the comments from last years spiel to realise it.

It still depends on the market you're appealing to.

Board Gamers and Miniatures Gamers have their own tastes, desires, and preferences. I, and many people on this board, may be the strange blend that is part of both groups.

Kingdom Death was one of those games that appealed to both and succeeded. However, I know of several of my board gaming friends that got frustrated at the assembly of the models.

In for the metal. To those that have the first game - what are the models like?

Average, not bad, but they are 5-10 years back on production polish.

I have dry fitted mine but I honestly cannot be bothered to glue them, they are for a baordgame and it is way too much work for a boardgame.

KDM is a big exception, but KDM is not really perceived as a "boardgame" but as something different.

I loved the first ones. I'm in for the metals on this one. Yes.. there are some fiddly pieces to assemble.. and yes, I'm planning on doing more with the miniatures than the boardgame.. honestly.. I would be surprised if the base game was actually playable let alone fun.. but I'm doing a long term Shadowrun thing so I'm gobbling up all of the cyberpunk goodies I can... and these fit that bill beautifully.

EDIT: Also.. if you've ever assembled old MERCS or old Infinity.. they are a bit easier to assemble than those.. so it's not "that" fiddly (thankfully). Some of the old MERCs models were rage inducing..

Hm, from what I hear the last game was kind of a mess, and instead of fixing it they're now doing a new one... not encouraging so I'll skip this one.

Actually, they did fix it (or at least released a new version addressing issues.. no idea if it fixed anything but they did it).. This is intended to be an expansion/standalone.. So.. kinda like Rum and Bones II or Descent II.. I guess..

Well, with all the pledges front loaded because of the free biker girl, expect the mid-kickstarter lull to be extreme. Still, we get a nice not-Deckard to gawk at, a Cyberpunk Babette and a curious cyber-samurai:

Give a high five to Big Girl!

Friends,

Another stretch is just behind us and little Big Girl has joined the Bomber Girls gang. Have we mentioned that you're awesome? You really are!Thank you so much for your support and ideas you're sharing with us in the comments and on profiles. We are reading and analyzing everything, we want this campaign to be as close to your expectations as possible.

For the next stretch we've done a small poll. The competition was very tough, both models are pretty awesome, but finally the winner can be only one, and it's....LINDON PAXTON.He wins 92 to 81. That's mean that after unlocking the next stretch, the KIJO will be available in addons. But you can be sure, that there are next great characters in the hiding, and OPFOR of much bigger scale.

Take care

Was going to just go for the pvc pledge but decided to go with metal. I have a feeling that will be the core game with the pvc heroes already all packed up inside and the metal guys will just be an extra pack they throw in.

Was kinda on the fence thanks to all the cash I blew on 40K this month, but who needs money anyway? God invented ramen noodles for times like this.

Yeah I tried asking but it got buried. I'm on my way to Origins Game Fair so I won't be able to try to follow up until I get back. I can see how it can be read both way... there are language issues, which happened during the 1st campaign (nothing serious but different signs of misunderstandings). In the rulebook Characters are what they call all the models, you have friendly and enemy characters so I naturally assumed "Characters" as being all, not just 'friendly'.

I'm liking that anti- riot guy. Always a sucker for heavily armored troops.

Speaking of heavy armor, did they ever release those human hybrids from the first campaign?

I was curious about those, especially the 2nd and 3rd forms. Never saw one in the wild that I can recall.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I think they might have.. there were a few waves of releases a month or two (at least) ago. I believe I might have one of the miniatures in question.. I'll have to dig out the box that has my HINT stuff though.. we moved and I'm not entirely sure where it ended up.

Looks like they might have some sort of failed experiment cyborg monstrosity in the works:

I love shadowrun so this is great.

I wish the first edition was plastic. This stuff has tons more details and looks way better. I don't think if ill KS this as id rather use the minis is scifi skirmish games I have..but good to know they sell them separate after. Would be nice if they converted the first edition to plastic also

These are 3D renders. The actual PVC models are going to look significantly worse than the metal models from the first KS, simply because PVC is an inferior material.
