So the idea is to have everything loaded up in a serpent with the intention of getting first turn (only 4 models to set up). From there the psykers will buff the dark reapers which will hopefully be re-rolling to hit and firing twice a turn thanks to the farseer and yvraine respectively. The autarch follows behind the serpents giving out re-rolls. Jain zar rolls close with the banshees to stop overwatch and tie units up for the scorpions to come in.

What can I do to optimize this? I've been thinking that dropping a wave serpent and replacing the harlequin troupe with striking scorpions could be really good since Yvraine can soulburst them when they show up 9'' away.

Let me know what you guys think!

Had to drop the harlequin troupe and solitaire because they can't go in eldar transports. I replaced them with Striking Scorpions and Warp Spiders.

Definitly keep the serpent and troupe, you would rather drop the 5 banshees unit.

Drop the autarch and firedragons=> add scythe guards.

Another very good option is to give a serpent with twin BL for your reapers. You dont want them to get charged / shooted to death first turn
They could disembark adding 3 to their move into position and shoot full BS.

you're going to have your harlequins on foot? They won't last and they can't go inside Wave Serpents. The Starweaver is too good not to take. Also, the Solitaire is 117pts, you have to pay for the kiss and caress (+23pts).

Hey guys thanks for the replies!

@strateger - I think you're right about dropping the 5 banshees; they're my favorite unit but i only need 2 x 5 banshees to soak up overwatch. I'm not sold on D-Scythe guard. 45points per model for a weapon that only does 1dmg per wound. Despite their durability, they're super slow and inconsistent because you roll a single dice to determine hits for the whole unit. Maybe you can convince me otherwise, but to me, for the same price I'd rather have 2 fire dragons any day.

I like the idea of bringing a brightlance or starcannon on the serpent but they are so expensive and as bullyboy pointed out i'm already over on points right now. What would you drop to pay for it?



@bullyboy - It's a Ynnari list so the harlequins can go in the wave serpent. I love starweavers, the only reason I'm not bringing one is because I don't have one :(

Thanks for looking over the points on the solitaire. I'm considering dropping him or the banshees to fix the points

Fairly sure the solitaire is like 117 or something.. you may need to go back and double check all your points

I think Bullyboy is right that the Harlequins can't go in a Wave Serpent. It's an area where there has been a lot of confusion, but the rule says this:

"Ynnead's Will
Units with this ability can embark onto any AELDARI TRANSPORT, even though the transport in question might normally only permit models with other Faction keywords to do so. All other restrictions apply normally."

The only units with the Ynnead's Will rule are Yvraine and The Visarch.

Ohhh wow I went back and read that rule. My first read I thought that they gained strength from death and ynnead's will, but I see that they ONLY gain strength from death. That's incredibly disappointing :(

It is a bit, isn't it?

Don't 100% trust my interpretation of the rule though - I have a history of getting things wrong. I know all units you put in your Ynnari army get the Ynnari keyword - does that have any effect as to which units can ride in what bus?

Ahh man, now that I'm reading the wave serpent entry, it says that only <craftworld> infantry models can embark in a wave serpent. I guess they really did intend to keep the transports separate
