Patience young Padawan...

The only change I see from your usual list is the SMS on the Devilfish, I am curious, why the change?

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

well the sms are on the hammerheads. The firewarrior squads are also 2 men smaller, the devil fish have targetting arrays, it has 3 piranhas, and the change in the stealth squad.

I changed to the sms for a few reasons. One, now I can play victory point denial at the same time as shooting some decent shots (If I had too, and I think I do play a little too agressively, especially with my stealths). The SMS do have 2 less shots but have 6" more range and dont require LOS.

Now I consider my list more optimized. It was optimized before, but I needed to beef it up as it has consistent problems with your word bearers( ie. one win one draw and one big loss) and great problems against anything capt k uses ( my tau have yet to beat his sisters, or his emp children, and have a similar record against his Ultras as I have against your word bearers). I can win as many rouge traders as I want with them, but if there are armies that can beat me on a regular basis, then I have to do something about it.

I don't understand the stealths in this list. Do you really need more S5 guns? I think not. Get more crisis. 2 more FKs for 124 rules the stealth's S5 guns.

I also don't understand the Shas'ui. He's nothing but wasted points. Take those and the points you save on Stealths (66) and put SMS on all your devilfish or something.

Well, the shas'ui does make em ld8, and I take ld tests after taking 3 casualties (some thing that is not hard being t3).

Why have the multitracker on the fishes? With only a burst cannon and drones, why split their fire? If you want to split their fire you can always just detach the drones. Use those points to upgrade to another SMS if possible. Capt K

The multi tracker is the one that lets them shoot as if they were fast. The target lock is the split one.

And the multitracker is necessary to make them enough of a threat to draw fire away from HHs. DF's are pretty lame without the multi.

T3 with a 4+ save. Chances are that more often than not the whole squad will be vaped or they'll be knocked below scoring, at which point you really don't care that much about them.

If you use them right they won't get shot much and won't need their leadership. Most games it will be totally a waste, and rarely will be worth it. I'd rather have 24" engaging devilfish personally.

Ah yes, I always confuse the two...stupid camel toes! Then I have no problems with your list. My only suggestion would be to try an alternate list with more crisis suits. Capt K

Lose an array on a piranha. They are really only there for taking objectives and harassing. Or if you have to have it remove the decoy launchers. Capt K

I'd rather lose the array.

I'd rather lose the decoy myself.
There has been some talk about whether the decoys are worth it on the Pirahna. By sheer points, definitely.

However, chances are that anything firing at the Pirahna will be able to bring it down, or in other games you may not let it be shot at all.

However, that extra BS when you need to make a shot can come up far more often and it can be far more troubling to your plans to miss that critical fusion shot than to lose a Pirahna tha t you have left exposed to enemy fire. It's still only a chance of avoiding destruction.

I agree on the dropping of the Shas'ui in the line squads. The difference between a moral check at 3 and not scoring at 6 is only a heavy bolter or two. It is very easy to bring the squads below scoring and they won't need to be making target priority checks often enough to spend 30 points on.

Consider perhaps, getting a team leader in a crisis squad with shield drones. You may have to drop points in other areas. Maybe, the decoys off of the Pirahnas, and drop the shas'uis and you might have enough.
I suggest this because cover will be somewhat scarce, as most of your army is going to try and hide alot.

A bizarre array of focusing mirrors and lenses turning my phrases into even more accurate clones of

I'd say drop one of the fish teams. The list itself is solid, but why not include some kroot for infiltration pushback? With the leftover points you can bump up the stealth squad to a proper 180 and include a third crisis suit in the teams.

Having 3 man Crisis teams isn't very points efficient..... 2 is the way to go. Plus it's easier to hide 2 than 3... Capt K
