Most people around here are playing 1000 point games for now.

HQ: Old One Eye 140

Troops:

15 genestealers 150
15 genestealers 150

4 tyranid warriors 117
Boneswords x4
Devourer x 3
Venom Cannon x 1

Heavy Support:

Carnifex x 2 228
4 x deathspitter w/ slimer maggots (each)
Bone mace
Adrenal glands

Trygon Prime 215
Bioelectric pulse w/ containment spikes
toxinspike
massive scything talons x 3
adrenal glands

Should add up to exactly 1000.

I think the list speaks for itself. The Trygon would tunnel and take 15 stealers with him. He would have to be careful about shooting up a squad and the casualties being taken off the front, making it harder for the stealers to assault.

The stealers could easily advance and assault, and with the re-roll, they're almost certain to make it.

The stealers off the main army would be easy targets but hopefully the sheer threat of the carnifex and old one eye would save them from taking every single bullet. The warriors are fillers and are obviously to stop the bugs from attacking the wrong stuff.

If you're planning on advancing the Genestealer brood that is entering play from the Trygon tunnel, you might want to reconsider; units deploying as reinforcements can't move or advance. You can still attempt to make the charge, of course. With a Command Re-Roll, you should be able to make something happen.

Other than that, have fun!

I was under the impression they could advance but not move.

I guess the Trygon Prime has a better chance since I gave him adrenal glands. As long as either the Trygon or the stealers make the assault from the back line, and the stealers on the front line have a chance at it as well. If the Trygon made it, the stealers would likely get shot less.

Yeah, it'd be cool if they could.

For your reference: Core Rules, page 77 under "Reinforcements".

You would need a psyker to be close enough to cast onslaught for it to work.

Leaves aside the old one eye, and instead places a tyranid prime, to improve the warriors.

Take one of the units of genestealers as close to 20 models, discard the other unit, and try to put at least 1 Broodlord to go with them also to make use of +1 to hit rolls .

That's going to give you 2 very good and cheap HQ, besides that one is a good psyker
