Most of us will have seen one of the various codex reviews, Battle reports or even the book!

Which units and combos are you keen to try out for your chapter?

One I thought looked pretty cool was the stratagem that lets you combine three Vindicators to perform a special area attack. This would combine well with the extra resilience from the Iron Hands as it doesn't look like you get any benefits for re-roll modifiers.

Where do you see the different SM units playing an important role in your chapter strategies?

My army is a mostly biker list with flyer support. I also knew i wanted to paint them Red but not be Blood Angels. I also wanted to do a Successor, and not a first founding. I also wanted all bikes drawn from the 8th company Assault Reserves.

Researching Lexicanum and other sources I tracked down every known Successor in red power armor. I now had plenty of choices.

Red Templar- Imperial Fists; Search and Destroy, bikes
Red Talons- Iron Hands; ruthless and bloodthirsty reputation
Imperial Talons- Raven Guard
Rampagers- White Scars; they rampage for the emperor
Genesis Chapter- Ultramarines; the first successor chapter!

My idea was to opt for a simpler color scheme and dry out different CT. White Scars were the most helpful, so I don't think I've ever actually tried any other CT before. Skilled Rider, 3+ Jink, Str 5 HOW, plus H&R and Scout with Kahn was all gravy.

But now i'm certainly going to try something new. I feel for bikes, the most useful CT now might be UM, and perhaps IF. Raven Guard could be fun if you try to stay in mid range shooting with the bikes.

Sallies can be useful too, I would just have to make up a Successor... Blood... Dragons or something.

My inclination is to take a Techmarine and 3 Dreadnoughts -- probably Contemptor Mortis but maybe just regular ones -- alongside a Guard or Sisters brigade.

The Salamanders' CT works out to be about a 50% buff to a BS3+ twin las/autocannon dread's firepower, which is just ridiculous. Or Raven Guard would make them 33% more durable against BS3+ shooting, and I'll have enough bodies to keep the enemy more than 12" away. The Techmarine can repair them and can be my Warlord. Because I have a brigade, I have a ton of CP and can freely use an Orbital Bombardment. If I use Raven Guard, I would probably bring a Captain instead and upgrade him to a Chapter Master. Overall the stratagems don't seem too impressive, but they give Imperial Soup armies something to spend all their CP on, which is nice.

To be pretty honest, it's hard to decide just like when they first did Chapter Tactics.

I'll definitely be doing an imperial fist Sternguard drop at some point though.

I am just excited to be able to rebuild my imperials around a theme dictated by tactics ... All around. Salamander successor mystery chapter. With inquisition sisters and imp grd sideline support. Purge the heretics with fire and truth in that order!

Agressors with Flamers and Forgefather Vulkan HeĀ“Stan. Seems to be something like a flame wall, great at overwatch and fury when fired against infantry. All just speculations right now, but it seems quite like my taste. Burn anything and everything...

Something basic but something i always wanted - Razorbacks with Twin Assault Cannons. As a Sallie i never got them in the basic marine codex. now it seems my time has come !

With fire and flame,

I mean, I WAS excited to try out a All bike White Scars army lead by a Librarian, but since I'd be forced to use the Index for the Librarian, I'll have to pass.
