Am I rightm that in 8ed Leman Vanquishers became twice less effective, than twin-lunked lascannons?
And who is the best tank killer (for it's points)? Valdor? Shadowsword? Doomhammer?
It's important to me because, we have an player with three Imperial Knights and two another players with Baneblades

In my DKOK list, i run a command vanquisher with lasconno. And sponson multimeltas. Does me wonders. But i di agree, the vanquisher cannon needs a buff, i only run it because i really like the model.
Ive found the Alpha pattern Leman russ with battlecannon and 3 plasma cannons a great anti-everything.

Shadowsword is hands down awesome for killing tanks. STR 16, AP-5, and 2D6 damage hurts.

Shadowsword is an awesome tank killer. But better vs titans.
Rolling few very very important dice is so stressful to me.
GW worked has to make easily 1 shotting a tank difficult.
I use mass fire. Plasma, hellstike missles, lascannons. Cyclops demo vehicles.

Plasma scion comsquads are by far the most effective tank (and everything else) killers.

I've been having a lot of success with company command squads being run as 4 wound lascannons. 4 of them hitting on 3's rerolling 1's puts work in and the enemy either doesn't apply enough firepower to wipe them or way overkills them.

In terms of raw damage output massed plasma be it delivered by scion rough rider command squad or infantry. However I tend to also run 6 astropaths for the double smite which is really effective for its points against the strongest targets
Also massed firepower of mortars and lasguns can chip a few away

I think we've been through this in another thread: those moments are what the command reroll is for. You should be writing your list to maximize CP (but not at the expense of raw firepower). Guard has the easiest time doing this out of any army I'm aware of. Shadowsword is hands-down the best. Even ONE successful hit has the potential to cripple (or outright destroy) the average battle tank.

For sure. I think I just need new dice.
You're 100% right though. For a single model the shadowsword seems to be the best for guard.
Cool model too. I just love super heavies.
