So I want to go very different for my next army, I want a neon/camo coloured space marine army. I live in australia, and was wondering if there are any suitable options that aren't GW? GW ones are expensive for one, and dont have the types of colours I am looking for. There are alot in Bunnings, would they do?

Any decently covering spray can will work, I'm sure. Grab some primer will you're at it as well. Most regular spray cans aren't primers unless stated on the can.

A neon SM army sounds cool though, neon pink?

I'm not familiar with the one you mentioned, but I often use Army Painter primer when I don't use the Citadel ones for an instant basecoat color also.

Army Painter is real good stuff, and around here (michigan, usa) it's about 10$ cheaper than the Citadel.

My apologies if that isn't available in Australia also.

BLAH BLAH....blah.

I just get cheapo primer from the local car parts shop. Grey plastic primer for £6. They also do fancy stuff like metallic paint for car repairs. That'd make a cool Space Marine!

Colour primer is fairly specific but I've heard good stuff about Army Painter cans.

The "white knights" range (from bunnings) can do you for priming and certain colours. Just ensure you get the "MATT" (or "flat") ones, and not the semi-gloss or gloss (if it doesn't say it's matt/flat, then it isn't. The gloss and semi-gloss often don't say they are glossy, but the matt paints always do).

Army painter sprays are available in oz (quite a few non-GW stores carry them - like the "good games" stores), with a variety of colours but they aren't much cheaper than GW sprays. Sure the cans are large, but it's much of a muchness.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

I haven't been into Bunnings but they have a neon pink paint from British paints. Which is a fairly respectable company. I'll get that primer and try it on a few spares as a proof of concept.

And yes neon pink with that camp/tiger stripe style that space marines have. Space sharks sucessor chapter
