Hey guys

I am modelling a death company storm raven with a nice tasty 11 man squad with a chaplain for extra murder
However I want to strap a dreadnought to the back for a spicy payload

I am aware in the fluff that any black rage pysker would be executed on sight

Can you justify a Librarian dread that has been assigned to this unit in a support capacity?

The alternative is one black arm with death company markings but my vision is the entire army in death company colours

Any opinions appreciated

I think one black arm would be fully justified fluff wise.

You could also paint him black and leave off the red "X" maybe.

Paint them anyway. Justify it as a librarian dread who went nuts after the fact and whatever campaign your dudes are on simply can't afford to scrap a dreadnought.

Librarian Calistarius was in the Death Company when he became Mephiston. So it's not unprecedented just very dangerous.

Would you think a librarian without the black rage, could have been assigned to watch over the death company, pushing them to greater acts of destruction? And painted as an indicator of his role

If the mission required it, sure.

In the short story "Terror Nihil" the Angels Encarmine used a Librarian Dread to keep their Dreadnought taskforce on task.

All BA can fall to the black rage. So having a Librarian Dreadnaught in with them is totally plausible. Also having one over see your Death Co. is completely legit too. You can also have a Chaplain Dread be part of your Death Co. which is a huge beatstick for a Dreadnaught. The joys of 40K its your story you tell it as long as it falls in line with fluff, knock it out.
