Hello Everybody, I'm looking for some feedback on the below 2000pts space wolves list.

I am hoping to be rather competitive and stand a chance against any army which may come my way.

My Theory in this list is as follows, Wolf Guard jump packs, Wolf Guard terms, Arjac and Logan all have the ability to appear behind the enemy lines when they are called upon and together I think form a very scary CC blob with reroll hits and wounds, While on my side of the table the Long Fangs will deploy into cover, the Grey Hunters in the Razorbacks or the Stormwolf, I am unsure yet. and snipers deploy as over watch and aim for juicy targets they can annoy. I feel this list provides a wide range of strategies that could be employed, terms and HQ's could deply in the stormwolf If I felt this was a better alternative to deepstriking.

The ideal lines of defence are long fangs at the rear, grey hunters with razorbacks midfield, and the giant CC blob of rerolls in the enemies face.

Any feed back, tips or tricks would be great! this is my first space wolves list ever and my first army in seven years.

Thank you!

I don't think you need that many lascannons, 5 from the long fangs plus the stormwolf should be enough.

I'd take a unit of wolf guard bikers instead and 1-2 more thunder hammers for the terminator squad.

Not sure about logan grimnar, I'd take a wolf lord on bike or thunderwolf in order to give the re-roll to the razorbacks and eventually the bikes. Terminators are still deadly without him and the lord is a good fighter too.

But overall your list looks solid, I think you can decently play even without changings.

I agree with the above regarding Logan. I would also suggest trying to find a way to fit in a unit of thunderwolves. Armed with a storm shield and wolf claw they are absolutely deadly and well worth their points.

The speed they provide also gives the list more flexibility.

I'm still not sold on snipers, they seem to either do really well or provide your opponent with first blood...

I've no problem with the long fangs. Massed heavy fire is always fun.

So if I was to drop a long fang squad and the snipers how would you equip the Wolf Lord and the biker squad? I would probably give 2 more thunder hammers to the terms aswell... I love those things...

I usually bring a lord with thunderwolf mount and two claws, the stormshield is always good but he comes with a 4+ invuln anyway. About the bikers I tipycally play a unit of 5-6 wolf guards with 2-3 storm shields, a stormbolter for everyone, and no other upgrades, but a thunder hammer for the leader can be handy. Each bike equipped like that can throw 8 S4 shots in rapid fire range, that's their main ability.

However some player fields them quite heavily, with combi plasmas or frost swords/wolf claws. I think they're an efficient anti infantries and can be decent in close combat but I prefer wulfen, terminators or TWC for assaulting stuff and I keep the wolf guard bikers as a shooty unit that targets enemy infantries.

Lists are always meta dependent but Long Fangs are one of our best units and I'd never steer someone away from lascannons. I feel that they're almost mandatory. In my shooting based SW lists I field two lascannon packs and one plasma cannon pack.

Ok so if I was to use the advice and drop Logan (who has reroll all hits instead of just ones, and wolf guard ignore taking morale), Also drop a squad of Long Fangs and the Scout Sniper Squad. Then using the points to get a Wolf Lord on Thunder wolf with 2 wolf claws, giving the terms 3 hammers and 2 frost axes, buying a squad of 6 Wolf guard on bikes all with storm bolters and 3 with storm shields, Adding a 5 man grey hunters squad that's bear bones other than a power sword on the leader and finally tweaking the flamer grey hunter squad to give the wolf guard pack leader a Frost axe to go with that combi flamer. it would look as follows;

++ Vanguard Detachment +1CP (Imperium - Space Wolves) [130 PL, 2000pts] ++

+ HQ +

Arjac Rockfist [7 PL, 140pts]

Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf [8 PL, 142pts]: Wolf Claw (Pair)

Do we think this still provides enough flexability? is it enough range fire support? I imagine the bare bones grey hunters will stick close to the long fangs to intercept any back line attacking units? I love the speed that it seems to have and the fact it can now be taken as a battalion.

To me that looks like a much more solid list, there is plenty of maneuverability. I'd advocate thunderwolves over the bikers, but that's just my preference

The only thing you're lacking is a psyker...njal is great for his points and in termie can deepstrike.

FYI, you're running 3 troops and 2 HQ's - Run it as a Battalion and you'll get 2 extra CP

^ This cant be made into a batallion. Needs a lot more. (2 more heavy, 3 more troops, 3 fast attack...

Umm, you're thinking of a Brigade, bud... Battalion just requires 2 HQ's and 3 troops....

Thanks for all the Tips, I thought I had put it in a Battalion whoops! but I definitely will be running it as one for those yummy CP.

I am torn, I do like the TWC I just dunno if I will use them how they need to be used.

A Psyker on a bike was another Idea Id had, one that moves with the bikers and razorbacks but I just cant see anything worth sacrificing for it at the moment. It will probably still end up being a model I make just incase I find away.
