So I really want to get a chaos force and have been wondering, is there a viable way to get a full termie army going that may not win all the time but will be somewhat enjoyable to use.
If it is please do leave a list below which I could use. (do bear in mind that this is just for fun and really playing with friends and such.)

Thanks

Well you got the new Plague Terminators and the good ol' Rubric Terminators. At least one squad of each would be needed!

Where ever the Emperor needs his eyes

As Slayer pointed out, Deathguard have their Plague Terminators, two flavors of them. Then there's the Rubrics for 1ksons.

For Vanilla, I'm sure regular CSM Termies, with a Lord and Sorcerer in Termie Armor can make a decent enough force, particularly if you are just playing with friends. Give them a Land Raider or have them deepstrike. Give them Combi-Weapons.

Is there any specific army/god of worship you would recommend?

I don't see why not. Find the terms that you like and run them in a vanguard detachment.

If you are taking regular Termies (not Rubrics or Plague) than Khorne is the obvious choice. This is because the Khorne icon give re-rolls to charge.
Have 5 Combi-melta/ Power axe Termies drop in next to a unit you wish to assault AND a separate vehicle. make sure you as close as possible to the unit you wish to assault.
Shoot the vehicle, then charge the unit.

I would suggest two detachments. One with World Eaters Terminators, just basic combi bolters, Champion with power fist. The other is black legion detachment, with Abbadon as the warlord.

For the black legion detachment, take slanaash terminators, take at least one big squad of ten with combi plasma. Take a Slanaash terminator sorceror as well. This is the shooty part. Deep strike them within 9.1 inches along with the sorceror and Abbadon, then doubletap with overcharged combi plasmas. So, you get rerolls to hit on 20 shots at str 8, 2 damage. Then use that slanaash strategem to make a unit shoot again and repeat for another 20 shots. That's 40 shots of over charged plasma.

Your slanaash sorceror has warp time and either prescience or delightful agonies. Given how dangerous that unit is, it might get focus fired. So cast delightful agonies which gives it 5+ FNP for more resilience.

The world eaters detachment is for the melee CC. So, same thing, deepstrike them in within 9,1 inches. And don't waste their combi bolters. Usually most good players will have some cheap infantry to bubble wrap their more important units. So, use those combi-bolters, just fire all guns at the chaff. Each combi bolter can shoot 4 shots within double tap range. So, one unit of 5 Khorne terminators can pump out 20 shots at doubletap range. If you deep strike in 3 squads of 5 each, that's 60 shots, which is pretty decent. With all the chaff cleared, the Khorne terminators can then charge into combat and their legion trait gives them +1 attack on the charge. Don't be afraid to use your slanaash black legion terminators to fight too. Abbadon is a beast in combat and his warlord trait make the slanassh terminator even better. I think with their icon, plus Abaddon's warlord trait, the Slanaash terminators will trigger their death to the false emperor on a 4+ (need to check if they stack with icon of excess).

Opps, I added 8 cultist squads, because you have to start with half your army on the board. lol. Now I am not sure if you will exceed 2000 points. You might. Well, you can run full black legion Slanassh terminator with Abaddon with a sorceror lord to save some points and some drops.

A rough full terminator list might look like this.

Black Legion Batallion detachment.

1 Abaddon.
1 sorceror termi lord

1 squad of 10 termis with combi plasma. (icon of excess)
1 squads of 10 termis with combi plasma. (icons of excess)

6 cultist squads of 10 each

World Eaters Vanguard detachment

1 terminator chaos lord (relic: Talisman of boiling/burning blood)

3 squad of 5 terminators with combi bolters. (all icons of wrath)

2 cultist squads of 10 each.

Equip all the champions with power fists. Not if there is still room for more terminators. But you have a full terminator army now, which can shoot and can fight.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Alternative build with less drops so you don't need to much cultists to start on the board.

Black Legion Batallion detachment.

1 Abaddon.
1 sorceror termi lord

1 squad of slanaash 10 termis with combi plasma. (icon of excess)
1 squads of 8 slanaash termis with combi plasma. (icons of excess)
1 squads of 10 Khorne terminators with combi bolters (icon of wrath)

5 cultist squads of 10 each

This should definitely be within 2000 points (I checked). You will need a lot of terminator models! And 50 cultist models too! lol. So, this build pumps out 40+16 = 56 plasma shots at double tap range. and 40 bolter shots for chaff clearing. You can tweak the number of plasma terminators in the second slanaash terminator squad by reducing the number of combi plasmas for more combi bolter terminators if you wish. And what if the enemy bubble wraps so that you don't even have a decent target to double tap your plasma within 12 inches upon deep strike? Then that's what warp time is for. Then don't use warp time on your khorne termis. Cast it on that big 10 man slanaash squad so that they move another 6 inches. Now they are further forward 6 inches. If there is still nothing decent to double tap your plasma within 12 inches after deep striking within 9.1 inches and moving forward another 6 inches, then your enemy is a master at bubblewrapping or just simply, run full hoard with characters and nothing else. In which case, just it doesn't matter, just full shoot everything at the chaff anyway. lol.

Anyone able to recommend a list for thousand sons?

If you're looking to assemble a Terminator Army list quickly, without having to worry about conversions or finding bits for wysiwyg then I'd recommend grabbing a few of the Terminator Lord Cadre kits (the ones that include 5 Terminators and a Terminator Lord/Sorcerer). Three of them can get you a list like ...

HQ
1) Terminator Lord with Toys
2) Terminator Lord with Toys

ELITES
1) 5x Terminators: (250 points exactly)
- 2x Combi-Bolter, Power Axe
- 1x Reaper Autocannon, Power Maul
- 2x Combi-Melta, Power Fist
2) As Above
3) As Above

That gets you a 1000 point army to start out with pretty quickly. It's not the most competitive, but it'd be fun and, again, this wouldn't require any conversions or bitz hunting.

Apologies, don't play Thousand Sons so can't comment on potential list for that.

(Behemoth - 2,000 Points Painted)

(Alpha Legion - 2,000 Points Painted)
- Favourite Opponent - Local RTT Dec. 2018

(Vior'la Sept - 1,000 Points Painted)
- Medusa V Veterans, Konor Veterans

(Steel Legion - 1,000 Points Painted)
