We had a 6000pt game and all went well - much easier than 6-7th Ed tbh and that was with most of us not having played much 8th.
We did adjust terrain rules to allow ruins to block LOS through them and woods etc provided cover in and past them. Otherwise played it straght.
Seemed much more fluid and more tactical judgements to be made - especially during move phase.
