So, a thought occurred to me while checking out Abaddon, his 4 marks, and strategems but the question could apply to any character with the appropriate mark.

The first on seems easy, Fury of Khorne would allow Abaddon to fight again. Bit expensive for 3 cps, but might pay off in certain fights.

But what about Grandfathers Blessing? Could Abbadon (or any infantry Character) that was slain come back with 1 wound remaining?

Now the only argument I can think is whether only specific Heretic Astartes Character strategems will work on Characters (daemon shell, chaos boons), but Psychic Powers always refer to Unit, and people seem to cast them on characters just the same.

What are your thoughts?

EDIT: Deploying the healed model is difficult and unexplained. RAW there has to be a unit on the board to draw from. This might debunk that idea...

Grandfather's Blessing wouldn't work if he was slain. If he's dead he's no longer a unit to be selected. Could heal him if still alive. The Khorne one would work.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

If Huron Blackheart had a mark of Nurgle and died while his hamadrya was still alive, he could be brought back. Characters with retinues are pretty rare though, I don’t think there’s any chaos characters that could benefit.
