I don't know i want to incorporate nurgle daemons into my Death guard army but they just don't do any damage. do people find this also?

Yup. Death Guard are a very potent force. Even with the cost drop on plague drones, they still don't really have much use for DG. Death guard have so many auras and buffs that they can use to amp up their own force, that it really makes daemons feel like an outsider.

I am hoping the Daemons codex gives nurgle daemons some of the scary mortal wound goodies DG have. Or something to make them at least as scary as DG are in CC. Right now, mono nurgle is very lacking for daemons.

Nurgle daemons and DG do the same job, but DG are more versatile and can create more damage.
There's one Nurgle daemon unit who can be very usefull : Nurglings. Infiltrate the nurgligns 9" from the ennemy, move 5" and charge the nerest heavy support without fly (watch out for T'au, Ultrasmurf and flamers).
Otherwise, play mono Nurgle daemon with Epidemius.

Daemon : 2500 pts
T'au : 2500 pts

The only Nurgle daemons worth taking right now are princes and nurglings. And really nurglings are only relevant if you're playing Maelstrom missions or as point fillers.

I play:
40K: Daemons, Tau
AoS: Blades of Khorne, Disciples of Tzeentch
Warmachine: Convergence of Cyriss
Infinity: Haqqislam, Tohaa
Malifaux: Bayou
Star Wars Legion: Republic & Separatists
MESBG: Far Harad, Misty Mountains

Nurglings are great. Your opponent wants to infiltrate some AL berzerkers? Deep strike Slaanesh Oblits and take out your big important stuff? Ghostkeels on your lines? Sorry, no can do, there are 3 carefully placed Nurglings blocking the way.

I haven't played with Plaguebearers yet, but they look really good on paper with their durability. If you wanted killy daemons, you picked the wrong god

A blob of 30 plaguebearers is a great tarpit and is relatively cheap.
Overall, I agree that nurgle daemons and dg are very similar in what they do however.

I've been running mono Nurgle daemons and have had some good success with them. Not sure how they pair with Deathguard, but Nurglings should be a boon for the army. I played a 1500 point game last night. T1 Nurglings screened and absorbed all of my opponents fire power, only lost 6 of them (<120 points worth).

As others have stated, use them to either tie up an enemies shooting or block deep strikers. Just don't expect them to do anything else.

What list are you running? I painted a lot of nurgle for 6th but never played with them and I'm currently trying to get inspiration for 1500pts as a start.

So my list was effectively a 1250pt list with 250 for summoning (mainly to get the GUO back onto the table after it has been singled out in shooting), but the 250 can be spent elsewhere.

Supreme Command Detachment
Herald of Nurgle - Virulent Blessing
GUO - Virulent Blessing, Fleshy Abundance
Daemon Prince of Nurgle w/ Wings - Virulent Blessing

Patrol Detachment
Epidemius
9 x Nurglings (death guard codex)
9 x Plague Drones w/ Icon and Instrument (death guard codex)
Foetid Bloat-Drone w/ Plague Spitters (benefits from Herald, DP, and Epidemius)

Deployment against a shooting army is generally throwing most of your units on the front line. My exception is Epidemius, but it depends on what my opponent has. Leave your Nurglings for last to bank on the fact that most people forget they can infiltrate like they do. Turn 1 will usually consist of moving + advancing your army forwards, while having the Nurglings tie up something in close combat that doesn't want to be there. You should be in combat with your main force by turn 2. You want to be casting Virulent Blessing on the Plague Drones as you will be getting 36 mount attacks hitting on 4+ reroll 1's (within DP range), with a +1 to wound, where 7's cause 4 damage. From what I have found they are unlikely to kill a full strength unit outright in 1 turn, but you can position your models to lock that unit in combat and finish it off in your opponents turn which is much better as you avoid the ickyness of being shot at.

Against assault based armies you will use the Nurglings as a screen to absorb the first wave of attacks allowing you to move forwards with your real threats and get first attacks off in assault.

If you wanted a pure Nurgle force @ 1500 I would swap the Bloat Drone for more Plague Drones or Nurglings, however I think some of the Death Guard Daemon Engines can synergize well with Nurgle Daemons, and fleshy abundance keeps them around longer than my opponent generally appreciates. Given the speed of most of the units in the list you can easily jump from objective to objective so I've never really worried about having Plague Bearers in my list (I also find them too slow to start on the table)
