Can I bring something like World Eaters or Alpha legion CSM alongside Daemons in the same detachment and still benefit from Legion tactics and all that? Obviously my Daemons benefit from none of it.
Nope. Read the first rules paragraph on pg 157. Every unit has to be from the same Legion in order to gain the Legion benefits. As such Legion units in a Daemon army, or Daemon units in a Legion army, will mean you won't get any of those bonuses. However, you can get around this little tidbit by summoning in those daemon units.

If your army is Battle-forged, all INFANTRY, BIKERS and HELBRUTE units in Chaos Space Marine Detachments gain a Legion Trait, so long as every unit in that Detachment is from the same Legion.
