Hi all,

As you know harlequins are equiped with flip belts that "ignore models and terrain".

How would you measure charge distance for units up ruins for example?

Diagonally? strait from solitaire to unit, or in multiple steps measuring all the way to ruin and then up

Can see example in image

In short, we don't know. There isn't enough information in the rules to determine how measurements are made like this. It's a case of deciding with your opponent pre-game.

My opinion would be that, just as with shooting, you are going to measure base-to-base in this situation, as you are ignoring the terrain, just as you would measure with shooting. In that case, a 9 inch charge in this situation would be good enough to make it in.

Ignoring models and terrains is the same rule flyers have. HIWPI the gaming table is flat for them, like a 2D plane. In your example the harlequin would have to move the horizontal distance as if both were on the ground, which would be 5 or 6", i guess.

9”, measure base to Base, is how I’d play it.

I guess my 1st post wasnt to clear.

The rules say "Move Across models and terrain as if they were not there"

It doesnt say Ignore terrain for placement, but if you move "across it"

You measure always BTB, pick point A to a points B, you "ignore terrain" if your point A and B start and end doesnt touch the terrain.

If your point A is on flat ground and your point B is 5" up you measure point A to point B, which would be a diagonal line. And you do this Model to Model NOT unit to unit. Unit coherency is 2" horizontal and 6" vertical, so if 1 model has to be on the ground or one has to be up a floor, as long as they are within coherency it is fine.

I dont get it. Looks like you already know the rules, but you asked, so you have doubts whether you are right or not. We answered, and you tell us we are wrong ? How can you tell us we are wrong, when you arent sure yourself ?
