Scouting Shade

I do like it, but the colors look a bit too thick and glossy.
Maybe you could add some depth to the skin and metals with some opaque washes such as reikland fleshshade for the skin and nuln oil for the metals.
The color palette is nice tho. Maybe it is the photos.

It may be a different thing entirely - I used a satin varnish for finish, it really doesn't look like it in normal lightning and without lenses.
Maybe that's why my camera doesn't like it.

I love the color, but the border between the headgear and the skin needs to be more defined.

Give yourself a bit more credit, they look very nice and faithful to the book scheme (especially like the caution stripes on the shoulder pads). Photography in general is tricky, particularly in getting the right light.

Photography has a habit of picking up on the worst features...be it us, or miniatures, so don't get down heartened by it. Practice and you'll see the improvements quickly. Your painting looks really clean and crisp which is a great start! look into adding a bit more depth to each area of colour you have with shading/highlighting or both!
Its a really good start though and a great choice of colour scheme - they'll look brilliant as a squad together.

Exactly this!
You are off to a great start. Practice and patience will see improvements in your brushwork. There are plenty of painting videos on You Tube alone.
