The GK psychic power Purge Soul uses the targets leadership vs the casters leadership to determine how many mortal wounds are caused. If the target of the attack (such as a Tau Tidewall Transport) has a "-" leadership value, how is the attack resolved?

I'm not sure buildings have souls...

(Not a rules answer before anyone leaps at me!!!)

Aside from the fact that SM vehicles have machine spirits, which could be considered souls, all SM vehicles have a ld value.

That's kinda more where I was going... either the crew have souls, or the vehicle has a soul (daemons), etc. Most things have Ld values whether they take Morale tests or not, for purposes of rules like this GK power. A building doesn't have a Ld value... maybe it is simply immune?

Currently you simply can't resolve the power. It's not the only power like that.

I don't think you can resolve it against a building as the power specifies an enemy unit, a building does not count as an enemy unit.

Which a fortification is.

Especially the ones in question(Tidewall); or half their rules do not work.

You are thinking of planetstrike/Stronghold assault advanced rules buildings; and even then they are enemy units to the attacker/stronghold assault defender in the case of a building captured.

Fortifications/buildings are ... ill-defined at best for most circumstances: discuss ld-based effects with your opponent pre-game.

HIWPI: Straight d6 difference for all such powers; force of will shaking the foundations. 10-15 Mortal wounds from the most powerful GK(in this case) is a bit much.

After-note: the closest definition BRB of a "-" profile stat is BS and WS; both are "cannot make (such) attacks". So a Fortification having "-" for S and A Doesn't matter since it cannot Attack in the fight Phase, but Ld is important in ways other than morale... so, I dunno. Either full immunity or Straight d6 for LD comparison tests.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.
