With the nids soon being done I can start looking towards my SW.

How is it with taking IG allies these days? Spesificly I am looking for long ranged support. How many points do 3 heavy weapon lascannon teams and an hq cost?

And can I easaly buy the models for it, or do the lascannons come in only 1 per pack?

I have some 5th edition rocket launchers long fangs (2 packs) I assume adding some lascannons to the army would give me a better ranged game.

If you mean the Cadian HWTs you get three of each Heavy Weapon in the box.

For points you need to buy the Codex, or try Battlescribe to do test builds for nothing.

Bear in mind they hit on 4+, vs Devastators' 3+/2+ for one model per unit.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

if you are going the lascannon ig allies route it will be a good idea to take them as cadians and have some officers about to issue two orders

that order should be take aim. For cadians this means they can re-roll to hit!

Consider a Shadowsword. It might be targetted in upcoming balance changes but those are months away.

How does that work? Is the offiser an HQ choise?

Imust say it maybe makes more sence to have the lascannons on the SW longfangs? BS3+ and re-roll 1 to hit.

Yes and you’ll need an HQ to ally in a unit without losing command points. Ideally you’ll want to run a spearhead, hq and 3x heavy support choices. If you have the spare points then 3x
3 las cannons, or 2x 3 lascannons and a mortar squad, which is generally useful and super cheap.

Bear in mind that I think lascannons are cheaper on BS4+ guardsmen, so giving them to the guardsmen isn't bad at all.

The Company Commander is a good HQ choice for this, as he can issue Orders to two units (3 with a good Warlord Trait). If you take 1 Company Commander, and 3 units of 3 Heavy Weapon Teams, you could have a very nice firebase.

If you do give them all lascannons, consider making the regiment either Cadian or Valhallan. Cadians make you more accurate, and the Cadian Warlord Trait is very good, and Valhallans will reduce your losses to Morale and has a good shooting Order.

Company commander is 30 points is an HQ and can give an order if your HWT doesn't move and receives the Taking Aim! Order you get to reroll hits but as an AM player the first units targeted are your HWS. It is for this reason they put their lascannons in Infantry squads and run HWT with Mortars that can indirect fire.
