Hi been playing age of sigmar last couple years and what to get back into 40k for the new year, I like the primaris marines and shrike was always a favourite character of mine.
Just wanted some tips on what units are worth buying or any units that don't work well in a raven guard army.

Also my group of friends at local shop are very competitive so I need to make at least a fairly strong list to stand a chance lol. Not sure on how good ravenguard even are but I definitely want a list with shrike in. Any help appreciated

IIRC, the best Ravenguard tactic is to buy a whole lot of dreadnoughts and devastators and abuse the -1 to hit chapter tactic as hard as you can. If you want to keep it fluffy for Ravenguard, take some Vanguard Vets with Shrike and infiltrate them forward to within 1st turn charges.

Besides abusing the Ravenguard rules, I suggest getting some cheap troop units so that you can run a battalion or 2 for the +3CP.
