First of all, you can very nicely combine fantasy and AoS orks with the 40k, if you like.

Loot lots of stuff, tanks, 'noughts, aircraft etc from other armies. It's lots of fun and creates an army full of character. Search up "ork looted vehicles" on google images and you'll have plenty of inspiration I'm sure.

Aren't Ork conversions a simple ritual in which you take all of the left over sprue parts, pile them up in your garden, set fire to the whole thing (the garden that is, not just the sprues), say a few words to Gork (or possibly Mork) and Bam! You've got yourself a brand new battlewagon!
