So, as the title says, I am an ork player with around $50 bucks to spend. I'm torn between two models: the trukk or a land speeder storm.
With the trukk, I plan to use the front part as a buggy, and convert remaining bitz into a deff dread (obviously with plasticard and other bitz).
With the land speeder storm, I want to convert it into a FW chinork warkopta for a particular project I'm starting.
I'm having alot of trouble deciding, hopefully you guys might be able to help out

Buggys, trukks and warkoptas are all pretty mediocre game-wise, and the deff is downright bad. Personally I would go for the storm, as I suspect that a new GW buggy kit will be released sometime not in the too distant future. Another option would be to make the trukk-conversion into a dual use model, that can either count as a trukk or a buggy.

For the conversions you might look here for inspiration:

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

I'd go with the Land Speeder Storm 'cause, out of the two, the Chinork is in more need of a conversion stand in than the buggie and Deff.

50 quid in AUD? Likely a box of Grots is all you'll be able to get

Trukk has much more modelling potential than the storm.

Save it so you can afford half the codex when it comes out.

If you have a decent sized bitz box from previous kits, I would go for the landspeeder. Otherwise the trukk should be your choice, since it is full of bitz and gubbinz for future projects.

It comes down to what you want to build and paint. My gut tells me the truck is a bigger project. Building the truck kit sucks, great bitz and a ton of difficult to reach spots while painting

Cant speak on the speeder tho

As an alternative, remove the need for transports altogether and get some Stormboyz.

Please note, for those of you who play Chaos Daemons as a faction the term "Daemon" is potentially offensive. Instead, please play codex "Chaos: Mortally Challenged". Thank you.
