Army list with a battle against Orks and Tyrannids in mind. No idea what they are fielding yet. 1500pt battle.

Farseer - 105 with Singing Spear.
I am thinking of using Conceal as Orks and Tyrannids have a bad BS skills (it would be 6's to hit I believe). Also Doom for the high toughness.

Guardians x 10 with scatter laser and platform - 80 + 15 + 10 (105 pts)

Wraithguards - D-Sythes (expensive I know but automatic hit for outwatch could wipe out a unit even if they do get in to combat) They could survive a round of close combat, step back,
and shoot. Killing more. (225pts)

Wraithlord - Ghost Glaive, Bright Lance, Starcannon, and flamer. 103,9, 20, 15 (147pts)

War Walkers x 3 - Scatter lasers and starcannons to punch through their high toughness with lots of shots! 150, 30, 45 (225pts)

Grav tanks (Falcon) - Vectored engines (-1 to hit when moving), Crystal targeting system (no penalty for moving and shooting) - (175)

Dark Reapers x3 with exarch - Tempest Launcher for exarch

Dark Reapers x3 with exarch - Tempest Launcher for exarch (172pts for both units)

Avatar (Warlord) - Just in case they do get through - Warlord Trait ADD 2" to MOVEMENT (Now 9") (250pts)

Fire Dragons x5 (for the Falcon) - 140 pts

Swooping Hawks with Baharroth and exarch - Take out Biovor's also s5 hawk talon x2 (188pts)

Just a heads up, the Farseer can't cast "Conceal". That power is limited to Spiritseers and Warlocks.

My two cents (Probably not worth that much), against horde armies like Orks and Nids, you're gonna need a lot more dakka than what you're fielding.

Drop the Avatar, Falcon, Wraithlord, and Guardian HWP.

Instead consider taking Wave Serpents, Warp Spiders, Windriders w/ Shuriken Cannons, more Dark Reapers, or Swooping Hawks.

If you're set on War Walkers, take two Shuriken Cannons on each, but I'd rather spend the points on dual Cannon Vypers. They can move further and shoot.

With Eldar,

"Speed is Life!"

If you ever get caught up in CC with Orks or Nids you've already lost. You've got to be able to create distance, evade, and fire. Wash, rinse, repeat.

You'll need to make sure you properly position your Farseer and Reapers, and you may want to consider a larger guardian unit to act as a meat-shield (screen) for them to keep deep strikers off of them the first couple of turns.

Anyway, best of luck.

BTW, with your list "as it is", my vote was YGD!

Well, I'd go for Biel-Tan and take as many shuriken weapons as possible.
Warwalkers, Guardian platform, Falcon (Serpent is better).
Against horde armies you need fire power and mobility (in this order) to keep them at arm's length.
Fire Dragons are not a must have (especially not vs Orks) and Wraithlords are meh in any configuration.
Your army will have a hard time vs. horde armies.

Thanks for the advice. Sadly, these are the only models I have for now. So I shall need to make them work.

I have just found out that my friend only has a 1000 point Nid army so I might be able to trim some of the expensive and ineffective figures (Avatar).

I shall keep an eye out for a biker squad. I saw a lovely unit of 5-6 vypers on ebay for £25 today.

I have heard that Wave Serpents are the unsung hero's of the new Eldar 8th. I shall keep an eye out.

I thought WraithGuards might be handy because they can wipe out a unit of 6 quite easily with one shot from the D Sythes. They would be able to withstand one round of attacks in CC with nids or orks, then be able to stand back and shoot again and kill another 6. Not to mention the instant hit overwatch.

Thank you for the advice, especially with the farseer. I need to study a bit more.

So, Runes of Battle are for Spiritseers and Warlocks, and Runes of Fate are for Farseers?

Right.

Wraithguard w/ D-scythes is great againt any (heavy) infantry unit.

Yeah. They just need to make sure they kill more points than they cost. Which for Nids and Orks could be A LOT.

Right. I have just won 6 Vypers on ebay. They should be here by the time of the battle on Sunday.

Shuriken Cannons all round?

What would you recommend they replace on the current list?
