Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

Me and a friend of mine are thinking of going into a doubles tournament together, only problem is I'm Chaos and he's IG which nets us -4CP. So he's thinking about taking R&H instead so we share the Chaos faction keyword, only problem is that R&H are trash compared to IG: he loses access to over half of his vehicles, he loses orders, he loses regiment bonuses and he loses stratagems. And in return he gets units with awful leadership, covenants which are just bad and some lack luster melee options.

How does an IG player who usually fields Valdor tank hunters, Support vehicles and has become complacent with the use of all the other IG goodies, play a R&H list?

You answered your question, take the -4CP and play IG.

If you must play R&H just take the usual IG Tanks, Basilisks, Wyverns and Hellhounds.
R&H has the one benefit over IG that Enforcers are now better Commissars so use them for all your bubble wrap needs and focus your chaos army on dealing damage.

Does anyone play a pure R&H list?

Most of the people I know use R&H as a supplement to their CSM force. They were doing it for access to Malefic Lords, now they do it for things like Earthshaker Carriages and Leman Russes.

The lack of orders sucks, the psychic powers suck, the leadership shennanigans suck, other things suck about the list. Paired with Obliterators, however, they can really crush an opponent at range.

I'm tempted to use them to feed a poxwalker horde.

Depending on whether I can be bothered to get around and base my models, I'll either be taking: Zerkers in double rhinos with Lord and Champion and some Terminators with another Lord, or just the Primarch double trouble. The tournament is a while off yet so I may re-spark my hobby enthusiasm before then but we'll have to see.
