Hello all! I posted a world eaters list a while back, and have thought of some tweaks and with the daemons codex out I would like as much advice as possible.

My original list included
HQ
Dark apostle w/ black mace
2X Exalted champion w/ power axe

Troops
3X 8 Khorne Berzerkers (including champion) all with chain axes and swords

Heavy Support
Chaos land raider w/ havoc launcher
2X Maulerfiend w/ lasher tendrils

Transports
2X Rhinos

LOW
Khorne Lord of Skulls (ichor cannon and skull hurler

As I got the berzerkers, rhinos, and land raiders, I thought of ways to possibly improve this list a bit, before making the big investment on the LOS. I also realize with the above list Im leaving my backfield open
Instead of the LOS would it be better it add an extra maulerfiend (3 in total) and 2 heldrakes to fly up the board and lock in opponent's heavy hitters? Or add some Khorne daemons, was thinking a D thirster and hordes of bloodletters?
Main idea is to have something grab the opponents attention (thirster or LOS) while the other units rush up the board.
Trying to make this list somewhat competitive, but not planning on going to any tournaments with this list. Local meta consists of gun line armies some with very good mobility and deep striking units (IG, tau, necrons), want something to deal with gun lines while still being well rounded.
Thanks for all the advice!

Personally id forgo the 2nd exalted, in favor of a Chaos Lord. Your LoS is gonna be marching the board as well, and if your raider survives it can be downright nasty rerolling 1s.

I.. think your LOS can count as a daemon detachment (it has the faction) unlocking the daemon stratagems. Could be handy.

Daemon codex is required for all that. LoS is CSM.

I everything except the Maulerfeind. I haven't been convinced they're good yet. I'd rather spend the points on a hellbrutes. Or if you're interested in FW, blood slaughterers are great. However if you don't want to make the investment into those models, I totally understand.

Bloodthirster looks good on paper, I haven't played mine yet. I'm kinda waiting to pickup some bloodletters and the codex. Otherwise from what I've seen in Battle reports they look good as a way to deal with big things.

I agree about Maulerfiends, but theyre a very good distraction unit. Ive had my opponent ignore WAY bigger threats just because they see the giant mechalizard.

I've had the same thing happen to my Blood Slaughterer. All the anti-infantry shots went into it instead of the Berzerkers WALKING up the board, who eventually made it into combat. Hilarious stuff.

So from what I'm seeing everyone liking the Lord of Skulls?

Thanks for all the advice, will definitely change the second champion to a Lord

How competitive is your meta?

The problems that I foresee with your list is that you have not many deepstrike denying units/grabbers. a few units of cultists might be able to do that.

Maulerfiends are good. I have good experiences with them. Just don't make the mistake to think they can beat a tank to death in one turn.

You will have a problem with big armies with a lot of canon fodder (IG, DG, CSM cultist lists)

the LoS can be insanely OP if you focus some stratagems on him but on the other side, vs MSU he will never do the damage needed, and if you lose him early on (some lists can easily do that), you might as well pack your bags. He is hit or miss.

I think the LoS is good. I just hate the model. Like any super heavy unit, expect all guns to be aimed at it. So don't be surprised if it goes down turn one or two. Just try to maximize the time you have it on board.

The Lord of Skulls was really meant to be an eye catcher that would pull fire, my meta is decently competitive, would I be better adding daemons and using a blood thirster with some raptors to cap objectives

I'd probably stick with the LoS. Or you can test it both ways to see what you like and what works for you.

Cultists and chaos lord protecting the preds and maulers babysitting rhinos seems like a really solid army. Bezerkers are great anti-infantry, so some lascannons will help immensely!
