First off, I am not at all saying Mob Rule isn't already good. It is literally the best its been in some time, but I had an orky idea that could make it even better and more fun, I am just concerned it might be considered OP so I want some peoples take on it.

This rule keeps the current rule, so a Mob can use model count instead of morale and can use any unit nearby. When an Ork unit Fails a morale check, IE It actually has to take casualties, it can instead move 6' closer to the nearest unit that hasn't "Failed' a morale check that turn or has since passed it. when the unit gets within 2' for cohesion they "mob up" and form 1 large unit.

Reasoning for this:

1: Mob up sucks, the tactic is such trash it actually makes me wonder what drugs GW was smoking when they came up with it, this is a good way to incorporate Mob up without it being a useless strategy that is so limiting as to make it useless.

2: Mob Rule is already good and losing the models is a pretty hefty penalty. However, in this scenario you don't lose any models at all, but you do lose control of that unit, as in no shooting or charging UNTIL they get into coherency with another unit.

3: This would make Mobbing up both Random and fun. A unit of 30 boyz get decimated and lose enough models to "fail" a morale test and instead run towards the nearest mob which happens to be.....Tankbustas, you now have a Unit of Tankbustas with 15ish boyz as well. Or a unit of 10 Kommandos retreats and joins a unit of Meganobz. This just seems so damn orky and fun to me!

so again, not sure if its over powered or not though so please let me know your feelings.

I don't know man, I think this is too strong, personally.

Mob Rule is ace as is, I'd probably try and draw as little attention to it as possible

I also like Mob Up as a stratagem. It gives us more flexibility in how we run our units.

I honestly think we have enough Morale mitigation in our index with Warbosses, Nobz and Mob Rule.

This introduces unnecessarily complexity (which unit is closest, which unit has combined with which again?) and I feel that the current rules are good enough.

Orks definitely need fixes but not here I don't think.

I agree for the most part, this wasn't my attempt to make a competitive rule, but one of those rare and mostly extinct fluffy rules that aren't hot garbage.

How about; "For every 100 models lost due to failed Morale tests, you may add one (1) Stompa to your forces and immediately deploy it more than 9" away from enemy forces as they form into a gigantic effigy of Gork and/or Mork"?

Stompa would still be over priced
