As always with hobby ADD I’ve been looking to my next project. I’ve been trying to work out how to make a competitive Emperor’s Children list and struggling.

Here’s what I’ve come up with:

I wanted to focus on a lot of assault units.

The Daemon Prince seems a ridiculously strong unit with the trait and artefact, clocking in with 9 attacks at Str 8 hitting on 2’s rerolling 1’s.

The Maulerfiends serve as relatively cost effective blender units that would also distract fire from the Helbrutes that pack the real punch (5 attacks at Str 12, -3 and 3D + 3 attacks at Str 8, -2 and 2D)



I was concerned about how I could deal with flyers, aside from charging them with the Daemon Prince. I can’t quite work out what the best anti-flyer is for the CSM codex but you can never really go wrong with Obliterators, hence the inclusion of two units.



The three other characters will start off with the 6 CC Noise Marines in the Rhino, they can ride up the board together and put out a lot of hurt into infantry units or join the party with the Maulerfiends and Helbrutes.

Other than obliterators this doesn't look tournament scary, rather a good list for non waac play. It's a shame that a legion with a good shooty unit got an iffy melee trait, and that maulerfiends are so buff resistant.

If a herald on steed can give locus to maulerfiends that's great. Odd that they removed it from the codex though. Also you might need fiends of slaanesh to keep enemies from walking away. Good luck with keeping them alive, and fliers.

Warp talons can charge airborne units if that's any consolation but I haven't been able to get their points back consistently.
