Hello everyone,

I am currently building a 2500pts combined Primaris/Mechanicus renegade/blackops army, but that'll be a story for another day. The Primaris will be the first line, and the Mechanicus the heavy support. For now I have the Primaris models, and thus would like to try them out on the field of battle.

To make it simple, this army list is one big Repulsor pain-train, with support element. Inside the Repulsor is the main army, supposed to rush down the center, drop out of the tank, and then dakka the enemy army away. There is also a dreadnought for fire support, and some intercessors behind to hold objective.

Chapter : Iron Hands
Force : Vanguard Detachment

HQ

WARLORD : Captain in Gravis Armor [134pts] with Armor Indomitus [Relic]
Warlord trait : Storm of Fire

Primaris Lieutenant [74pts]: Master-crafted auto bolt rifle

TROOPS

5 Intercessors [90pts]: Bolt rifle

ELITES

Agressor Squad [111pts]: Auto Boltstorm Gauntlets / Fragstorm Grenade Launcher

Primaris Ancient [69pts]

Redemptor Dreadnought [191pts]: 2x Storm Bolters, Macro Plasma Incinerator, Onslaught Gatling Cannon

TRANSPORTS

Repulsor [332pts] 2x Fragstorm Grenade Launchers, Auto Launchers, Fragstorm Grenade Launcher, Heavy Onslaught Gatling Cannon, 2x Krakstorm Grenade Launcher, Onslaught Gatling Cannon, Twin lascannon

As I said, the objective is to charge down the center guns blazing, then drop the command squad (captain/lieutenant/ancient) with agressors, also guns blazing. The dreadnought also charges while gunning. Well, you get the picture.

I don't try to make it as competitive as possible. I'll only be doing friendly matches with this group until my 2000/2500pts army is ready. But what do you think so far ? Should I maybe change a few weapon options on the Repulsor ? Maybe use the points to give snipers to the Intercessors, which will be objective camping in the back ?

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I can't bring myself to bring auto launchers on my repulsors. The idea of them missing a turns shooting is too much. They need to be firing. I have an all primaris army and the lack of armour hurts. If I only bring one or two things they are the only target for anti tank weapons. The dread should draw some fire. I did a similar plan and it worked well, in small battles if they don't kill your tank its throws at so many shots.

Hey man! Thanks for the answer.

I planned on using the Iron Hand trait and some stratagems (like Armor of Contempt, and Machine Empathy) to get close fast and safely.

You are right for the auto launchers. I switched the following
Auto-launcher => Fragstorm grenade launcher.
Twin lastalon => twin heavy bolters
Heavy onslaught cannon => Las-talon

And with the extra points saved, I added the Icarus rocket pod to the dreadnought, and gave my intercessors some stalker rifles so they can provide long range firepower.

Do you think with that, the list should work good ? :-)

Thanks again!

I'm not the best tatcian but but with primaris the best results I've had have been in small games where the repulsor has wrecked everything then the contents mop up. I think it'll either win or if they get lucky and cripple the tank you'll screwed early doors. Sounds fun aggressive tactics. I've also found aggressors need transport. I've a repulsor same load out, it is versatile. Let me know how you get on. Don't know if you could squeeze them in but hellnlasters are cracking, I use them like troops now too.

Hey guys!

With the new FAQ rolled out, battallions are now worth 5CP.

Do you think it worth to remove the Redemptor, and replace it with two squads of Intercessors ? And equip the Repulsor with full AT firepower ?

Thanks for your feedback :-)
