Normally after a major tournament, we get a data-dump of who did what when. I looked in the Tournament Discussion forum and didn't see it, and I don't see it here, but Adepticon is over, yes? Who won? What happened? I enjoy reading this data, however useful it might be, and I'm curious what happened. More Dark Reaper spam? Chaos victory? Did Guard pull out a win?

Isn't it Thursday and Friday? I'm sure Adam Abramowicz was talking about how he wanted to qualify for Friday... so... I don't think it's done yet.

Could be wrong.

Oh, I thought it was over already. I thought it was all week (monday-friday). That's what I get for not reading, I suppose

I saw that #1 currently is Nick Nanavanti with "Black Legion" chaos soup: CSM detachment with Abaddon and cultists, Thousand Sons with tzaangor and daemons, Death Guard with typhus and poxwalkers.

No Eldar I saw. Some Tyranid lists.

What missions is adepticon running? Hive tyrant spam (which is what I assume some of those nids are running) would do extremely well in most ITC missions if played right.

I must say I get a kick out of any tournament result that is "wrong" compared to conventional internet wisdom. Some of these tournaments have weird circumstances that can radically shift the balance of power and what is "good", much like that tourney a guy won with 6 tac squads or the tourney where there were two Ork players in the top 10. Even seemingly minor tweaks have massive effects on tournament play at the top tables this edition, which I guess is a good sign. It at least points to things being better than the dark days of 7th edition.

Has there been no significant Astra Militarum presence in the tournament either then? Aren't they supposed to be top tier too? Haha

I believe one of the top "Tyranid" lists was something like 5 Flyrants and AM allies.

Yeah sixth place was that.

Ah right, so there were plenty of Guardsmen, just no pure AM lists, which I suppose is exactly as to be expected!

Five of the sixteen lists had guard, yeah, but five of the sixteen lists also had Tyranids, and four had Chaos-- and the 'nids and chaos lists both outperformed the Guard lists.

Don't disrupt people's whining with trivial things like "facts" or "data", they will just hate you for it.

Matt Root with the Tyrant spam list won, at least the one BCP lists as the Adepticon 40k Championship. I’ve pulled the wrong championship to the one people have been talking about before, though.

Grey Nights 1
Space Marines 0
Deathguard 4
Blood Angels 3
Dark Angels 3* non souped
Craftworld Eldar 1
Tyrnids 5 4 non souped
Astra militarum 4
Choas Space Marines 2
Custodes 2
Adeptus Mechanicus 0
Thousand Sons 2
Choas Demons 2?

Ok so thats kinda depressing, vanilla marines and AdMec contributed 0, index'sand the tau and cron codex are too new, but looks like marines and admech don't have units cood enough to justify their use.

Also list the astra militaritum as 0 un-souped.

I specifically called out the 7 non souped lists I spotted.
Everything else is by definition soup, you need to relax and calm down with the paranoia.

One thing people should note is that the Saturday rounds are single elimination. That's how rankings are determined more than battle points.

And so none of those need addressing? What exactly is your point? I think flyrant s need the commander fix. All I think guard needs is buffing to no -soup armies to make them less attractive as soup. CSM need fixes to PBCs, the pod walker spawning strat, and maybe some tweaks to cultists(don’t let them use veterans of the long war, pay points for respawn like IG)

Alain the only non-soup lists were Nids (I think). Everything else is soup. So pointing to guard being in every imperial soup shows that they have some issues relative to other imperium factions.

Not really. It just goes to show they're useful as cannon fodder for armies that don't actually have cannon fodder. Do you believe all armies should have a cannon fodder unit?

Yes and no, I don’t think all armies should have access to the same type or quality of cannon fodder unit. They also easily fill detachments for cheap for CP to use more powerful stratagems. I also wish screens were not quite as important for all armies.
