This is an amended list I put up the other day that originally featured Celestine and some seraphim. I realized that by dropping Celestine I could double up on the dominion/repressor combo while also maxing out the DC unit, and properly kitting the Scouts. This list isn't as Super Friendsy with Celestine teaming up with the already impressive character grouping, but it's pretty flippin brutal, and can be in the opponents phase on turn 1. Just to recap a few of the layered synergies: the main star is sanguinary guard, ancient, Sanguinor, Smash Captain, and Librarian, +1 attacks to all from sanguinor, +1 attacks to sanguinary from unleash rage psychic power, re roll wounds of 1 and 5+ FnP from standard of sacrifice, and re roll 1's from smash captain. The majority of the buffs layer onto each character as well, so each one kind of ends up being a 1-man wrecking crew - even the Librarian will be on 4-7 Force Axe attacks between sanguinor and quickening. The sisters form the compliment to this expensive star by presenting a threat that frankly cannot be ignored. Two repressors filled with melta, one five melta, the other six, using the dominion vanguard move to double move on turn 1 and be in range on turn 1, not to mention the combined four heavy flamers which will do some work on light infantry as well. The thought is that the repressors have to be target priority one on turn one and this will hopefully see the melee star make contact intact. Fifteen strong Jump Pack DC form the main anti-infantry hammer, and the scouts round out the battalion, provide board control, objective holding, some heavy weapon support, and open up flakk/hellfire stratagems. The ten strong sanguinary guard will utilize descent of angels after deep striking for a near-guaranteed charge, smash captain has the angels wing to re roll charges, and the DC can use forlorn fury to double move similarly to the repressors, this completes the all-in-your-face theme. I think if this list goes first against most things it will destroy. If it goes second the main star will be in reserve, but the DC will certainly be vulnerable, the repressors also to a certain extent, but toughness 7, 12 wounds, and a 6++ provides some decent durability. Obviously I can think of a few spammy gimmicky lists from LVO or adepticon that circumvent the raw power of this alpha trike, but again, against "most" things it can really tear it open from turn 1. P.S. the Canoness is just hanging out in the back with a scout squad so as not to invalidate the vanguard special rule for the repressor.

The list does seem well thought out. And yes, if you go first it has the potential to wreck most things. The only thing I would want to change is trying to fit Lemartes in somewhere for the death company.

Thanks. Of course Lemartes is awesome, but it's either him or the Librarian, they both cost exactly 129 points, and the librarian potentially giving the sanguinary guard +1 attacks is too good to drop, in my opinion.

15 model DC without lemartes is a big nono. Lemmy lets DC re-roll all failed hit rolls and he lets DC re-roll failed charge rolls. Also DC uses his LD9 instead of their LD7. The +1 attack buff from the libby is nothing against the power of lemmy.

Well the question is about target quality. The DC are kitted as cheaply as possible because they're meant to go after the opponents screens/troops, that's it. Given that strategic purpose my feeling is that they really don't need re rolls to hit or charge, or a leadership buff, as much as the sanguinary absolutely have to kill what they're going after, as they're meant to take on the best unit the opponent has on the table. The other thought I had was about the character itself, and what they'll be fighting. Lemartes is a beast in combat, but I don't really need that against chaff units. The librarian when layered with all those buffs is putting out 5-7 strength 6 ap -3 damage d3 hits while also providing the potential for an extra 10 powerfist attacks from the sanguinary guard. I feel like that 129 points is getting stretched much farther when spent on the librarian. But I hear what you're saying, I love lemartes as well, maybe we can fit him in somewhere!
You could do something like this: I drop the combi-melta from the single dominion squad to pick up 19 points, I drop the two missile launchers from the scouts because frankly 7 of the 8 CP are accounted for turn 1, thats 50 points, and then I drop three of the death company, thats exactly 129 points, I then add Lemartes in, the list looks this. I lose a bit of my anti-tank basically to add lemartes and bolster the DC, what ya think?
