Ive noticed a lot of flak about the new Termite vehicle my question is, is it really that bad?

Sure I understand as far as transportation services the drop pod is more efficient but it does things that the drop pod doesn't.

I run blood angles currently and I'm wondering what the community thinks of me popping up with a bunch of death company or characters and ya know going to town.
or something similar

The Lucifer pattern engines stratagem would also seem fun to use on it to.

Thanks for all the replies!

I thought most flak was from the fact that AdMech couldn't use it despite them being able to use it in 30k.

Having weapons unable to shoot the turn it comes is also kinda bad. Coupled that with faq nerf to deep strike it just became even worse...

The thing that sucks about it is now turn 2 you arrive. Turn 3 you disembark and hopefully the unit you wanted to charge is still there. If it allowed disembark the turn it arrived it would be better.

If it had the ability to come up using the exact same rules as a Mawloc it would be decent

Well balls. Just took a look at the FAQ and yeah I'd say deep strike got a little nerfed. Not that I intended using a whole lot of deep strike considering my army is a lot of dreadnoughts.

Perhaps some careful planning will need to be involved if I do intend to buy the model.

They can transport Centurions, so there's that...

I think they are the awesome. My only wish is that they could transport Primaris.

Bow down to Guilliman for he is our new God Emperor!

Martel - "Custodes are terrible in 8th. Good luck with them. They take all the problems of marines and multiply them."

"Lol, classic martel. 'I know it was strong enough to podium in the biggest tournament in the world but I refuse to acknowledge space marines are good because I can't win with them and it can't possibly be ME'."

DakkaDakka is really the place where you need anti-tank guns to kill basic dudes, because anything less isn't durable enough.

I am at the consensus i'll grab one and run it.
Backed up by a detachment of Admech gunline i think with minor modifications to my list i can use the termite with some characters and some Death Company and/or vanguard veterans. I should mention i also use a leviathan in a dreadnought drop pod.

I think it's been fairly well received by the factions that can run it.

Particularly Death Guard, who have a stratagem to just make one explode whenever it does.

The points are ideal.

With the new new Deep Strike FAQ "fix" yeah it's kinda bad.

Not really you can pill box. You always negative about everything anyways.
