I don't know they death watch flier but want to stick to a 2000 point capacity on my army so I don't go over board. I have 1500 points now and I am looking into a delivery system for my units is the corvous good? or is a land raider drop pod better? I like the idea of the flier and it looks good but if there is a better option then I would like to hear it.

I think they are not that good TBH.

Bow down to Guilliman for he is our new God Emperor!

Martel - "Custodes are terrible in 8th. Good luck with them. They take all the problems of marines and multiply them."

"Lol, classic martel. 'I know it was strong enough to podium in the biggest tournament in the world but I refuse to acknowledge space marines are good because I can't win with them and it can't possibly be ME'."

DakkaDakka is really the place where you need anti-tank guns to kill basic dudes, because anything less isn't durable enough.

It depends. If you brought a Guard battalion for CP like you should be doing, then there is only one reason to bring a Corvus, which is frag cannon or melee kill teams that need to be within less than 9" to get their damage in. Everybody else is fine just deep striking or using the beacon angelus to get into position.

It's not a gunship, don't factor it into your total AT or anti horde firepower because between moving and damage penalties, it's basically irrelevant to your damage output. If your opponent ignored it for some reason, any damage it does by itself is a bonus.

The 14 wounds/-1 to hit makes it surprisingly survivable. More importantly, even if it's limping along at 1 wound, it still has a 20" move to bring your KT into position, unlike a Land Raider. I would take a Corvus over a land raider any day.

If it doesn't move, and you end up using it like a lot of transports are these days (i.e. shields that give +3" to a unit's first move), then the Corvus is well-armed, hits on a 3+ and is often near a watchcaptain. I love it with hurricanebolters, assault cannons and Stormstrikes.

If it is delivering, then yes, its first turn shooting will be a bit of a dicey affair. But second turn, if it isn't toast, it can drop in to hover, again, next to a watchmaster, and light up anything in sight.
