Hi all.
I’m currently building a new army and that’s Adeptus ministorum.
I love the Penitent engine model and like to include one or two.

It’s ability “Desperate for redemption”
- Roll a D6 after completing the first set of attack’s for a unit of Penitent engine in the fight phase.
On a roll of 4+ the unit can immediately pile in and attack for a second time.

I have not played for so long and still learning things.
So is this the right way or do I miss something?

1 - if I have 2 PE in a unit and make a charge. I attack, then I roll the D6 and attack again, then it’s my opponent’s turn.

2- I have a unit in combat and chose it to fight, my opponent’s unit have not yet made their fighting. So I fight then roll D6 if fight again, then opponents turn?

Thanks for taking your time and wisdom!

It should be fundamentally the same as Khorne Berzerkers.
Basically when you charge and attack, you will do your attacks.
After the first set you roll a d6, if you have a result of 4+ then the engine will fight again once more, if you can successfully pile in again.
AFTER those attacks if you were the one to start the melee your enemy strikes back, except if he has a rule that states that he always strikes first in any melee (Emperors Children for exemple)

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

Thanks for answering!
Have not played with or vs anything with a rule like this yet and English is my second language so I just wanted a clarification.

Important to note tho, that if melee goes on for multiple rounds that you will not be able to always strike first just because you started the melee some turns before.

As for EC or Chaos in general, let's just say there are some really powerfull rules and or units there for melee.
