I was at a local hobby store eyeing the various airbrush paints and grabbed the Createx Opaque set since the Vallejo Model Air paints looked a little iffy. I'm new to airbrushing minis and wanted to try it on a few test figures first, and I've had rather mixed results. It seems that the paint is drying on the needle absurdly fast (around 1 minute after starting) and clogging the stream of paint coming out. From what I've read, that means I need to thin it a bit more. This leads me to a couple of questions:

1. Is Vallejo Airbrush thinner going to work with the Createx paints? I don't see why it wouldn't, but I've heard of different brands of paint reacting strangely.
2. Is there a good ratio of paint to thinner that's a good general rule of thumb? The green flows really well and takes around 3 minutes to clog, while the white took maybe thirty seconds. The others average around a minute before clogging the airbrush.
3. I bought the Autoborne primer/sealer that's under the Createx brand. That's definitely too thick and needs to be thinned A LOT to be useable (it clogged my airbrush almost instantly at 25 PSI). Has anyone used it? Is it worth keeping and trying to use, or should I just count it as a learning experience and toss it?

I've been trying to find answers to these questions online and by searching the forums, but I haven't had much luck.

Tip dry is generally a bugger with acrylic paints. Try some flow improver, the Vallejo one is good.

I'll try that when I get paid next week! I'm also going to start experimenting with thinner:paint ratios because the Createx opaques are way too thick for lower PSI settings. One of them actually says to spray it on 50 PSI, which is way too high.
