What are the various titles and rankings of the ecclisiarchy? I’m currently away from my books so I can’t really look it up. The reason for asking is that I currently have some free time and am thinking of writing a bit of... well, fanfic I suppose. I’ve had an idea of an noble born priest traveling the Imperium as a hitchhiker, preaching in places and seeing different worlds. A kind of hitchhikers guide to the Imperium. I happen to be in Italy at this time and the various huge churches and old Roman ruins are quite the source of inspiration.

For this I need better knowledge of the titles and ranks within the ecclisiarchy, though to be honest In my years of dark heresy and such I can’t recall many titles except Cardinal (from the Necromunda books) and deacon.

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.

There are also "Confessors", arch-confessors and the office and title of "Ecclesiarch" itself - one of the high-lords is an ecclesiarch.

There's some info on this in the 2nd ed SoB codex, and some more in some of the old Inquisitor game sourcebooks (the various religious sects and cults imperium, like Thorians, etc).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

The priests of the Adeptus Ministorum are members of a rigid ecclesiastical hierarchy which includes the following offices, from highest-ranking to lowest:

Ecclesiarch
Arch-Cardinal
Cardinal
Arch-Deacon
Deacon (Dean)
Firebrands
Drill Abbott
Confessor
Preacher

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

The 2nd edition Sororitas book gave the rankings as follows

The Ecclesiarch.at the top

Below him are the five Cardinals Palatine who serve within the Imperial Palace, the cardinals terran (who serve the diocese of the holy synod on Earth), and the cardinals ministra (who serve the diocese on and around Ophelia in the synod ministra). Most of their work is traditional and also the long debates over policy implementation.

Next are the Arch-Deacons who oversee the running of the Ministorum as an organisation. The parishes of the diocese have deacons, who are in turn served by the deans and lesser clerks.

Each diocese also has a cardinal and team of preachers, bishops, priest generals, etc, who work the spiritual side of the organisation, and separately from them the confessors and arch-confessors.
Schola progeniums are headed up by a special rank of priest known as an Abbot.

Somewhat separate from any given diocese are the the missionarus galaxia and the missionaries

There are also a bunch of very minor functionary ranks such as logistoras, quire masters, reliquindus, etc. Behind the scenes administration positions.

Beneath everyone were the ranks of the frateris militia, not formally part of the church.

Firebrand seems out of place on that list - it's a type of redemptionist, not a formal rank.

Ophelia VII

I'd just like to point out that the Cardinals Astral are all the Cardinals outside of Terra, and it's the Cardinals Astral Ministra that serve in and around the Ophelia system (as per the 2E Sisters codex)

Let it be known to all present and future Sisters of our Orders that they must fast at the High Vigils of Saint Thor, Saint Aspira, Saint Jason, Saint Orlanda, Saint Dolan and Saint Constantine of Alamar. Upon the Holy Days of Saint Gherick the Confessor, Saint Decessio and Saint Lucius of Agatha, let them meditate. Let them fast for not less than five days preceding the Most Holy Days of Our Founding Sisters, Saints Dominica, Katherine, Silvana, Mina, Lucia and Arabella. Let them observe silence for the vigils of Saint Capilene, Saint Josmane and Saint Lacena. Upon the Low Days of Saints Yamalla and Corvus the Sabines, Saint Tomasi, Saint Dufaux and most especially Saint Josina, they should both fast and maintain silence, and upon the Days of Saint Praxedes, Saint Kozak and Saint Verevya they should meditate upon martyrdom. Upon the Feast of Saint Jasone, they must fast, but may consider themselves at liberty between matins and vespers.
