Im a bit on deep water here.
Im doing a test model and i found a purple tone that i like that will be the primary colour, but then it struck me, i have not painted purple before and as sutch i have no effing idea what goes well with it.
I have seen white, yellow, gold and silver as secondarys but i realy dont want thouse unless i dont have any other options.

Has anyone tryed some other combos?

I don't know what miniature you are painting or what look you are after. But you can always draw inspiration from nature, for example search for "purple flower".

Not sure how well it really fits but I went with weird colour scheme with my scions. Cloth are purple, armour is metallic light green. Camoflage? What's that? When you appear out of nowhere you need no camoflage!

I find (in my own army, personally) purple goes well with white, and the gold/copper metallics.

A popular one is green. See Batman's Joker and many, many other examples.

I like to complement white or off-white with purple and did that on my Sisters of Silence (white armor, purple capes). That's how I'd paint my Sigmarines, too.

Another one that works well is yellow. You occasionally see yellow/purple heraldry.

Spoiler:

When picking a colour scheme you mainly want to look at the complimentary and split complimentary.

Purple typically goes with yellow or gold, but also looks good with green or orange.

I like the Hawk Lords purple and gold, but all the official pictures show them with red eyes and steel boltguns. I think they look much better with green lenses and some white on them, as well as something like straight back bolters.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

ooooh, bluegreen, that one i like!

i just want something that aint quite the norm for them, and i think metallic purple armor whit bluegreen shoulderpads will do it for me.

Orange or green are solid choices. Red too (see Magneto). Could also do blue, either quite a pale blue, almost white or a dark navy blue, depending on the shade of purple. I'd probably say purple and gold or purple and white are my two favourite pairings if it was my model though.

Hey my purple-green wasn't that weird then. Good to hear.

Aah, purple is one of my favourite colours to work with.

In terms of blue-green, my Alpha Legion follow that exact combination. Armour is AP Hydra Turquoise with details picked out in Genestealer Purple and AP Firelizard. Terrible photo below

Also, depending on the shade; Vallejo and Army Painter have quite an interesting variety, I find white, yellow, orange and copper work well.
For consideration, I'm planning on trying a deep, red-purple (AP Wasteland Soil) alongside pale green (ghostly Nihloxide)
Pale grey-blue works quite well. GW old Shadow Grey / AP Wolfgrey.

Have fun

Purple is one of the dullest colours, meaning it will not stand out much.

The 'classic' schemes are one other colour of white, brown, yellow or orange. The last one makes a very 70's psycadelic look.

As someone pointed out the btman joker is green and purple. Unless you use a light green tvis does not stand out that much.

The flover colour search is a good idea. If you wanne work with just purple you can try drybrushing it with a warm pinkish hue, or warm orange.

Also remember that you can use metals. Gold instead of yellow etc.
