Can you take a Soulgrinder with the mark of Khorne in a matched play Blades of Khorne army? The Blades of Khorne book seems to indicate that you can because of the Khorne keyword, however, Daemons of Chaos is not listed as an ally for Khorne in the General's Handbook 2018.

I play:
40K: Daemons, Tau
AoS: Blades of Khorne, Disciples of Tzeentch
Warmachine: Convergence of Cyriss
Infinity: Haqqislam, Tohaa
Malifaux: Bayou
Star Wars Legion: Republic & Separatists
MESBG: Far Harad, Misty Mountains

you can. as it is not an ally. it is a khorne daemon.

I've been looking at this option. It actually looks like a not bad option at first glance.

I tested it several times and it plays out rather underwhelming. If you are gonna pay those pts better opt for another thirster. It will do more cost/effect and has better synergy IMHO.

But it isn't listed under Blades of Khorne. It's listed in Daemons of Chaos (with Belakor, Furies etc.) which only allies with Everchosen or Grand Alliance Chaos. Same with the Slaughterbrute of Khorne, it's not listed in Blades of Khorne, but in Monsters of Chaos which can ally with Khorne. Seems like a mistake, but maybe they don't want Khorne to be able to take Belakor?

The only requirement to access Khorne allegiance is to have the KHORNE keyword. So if you have a unit that can take a Mark - like most Slaves to Darkness units - you can include them in a 'Blades of Khorne' army without having to use them as allies. The same applies to the Soulgrinder and Furies, since they can both be KHORNE.

Be'lakor can't be given the KHORNE keyword, and since he isn't in the ally list for Blades of Khorne, you can only take him in a Chaos allegiance army alongside your frothing berserkers.

Like Thommy says.

The ally rule does not apply here as you would not be taking allies. That is only for models that do not have the KHORNE keyword. So you can't take Belakor but can take models that can have the mark of khorne.
