EDIT: LIVE KICKSTARTER LINK HERE

Deraj Studios is producing a line of true 32mm miniatures from a fantastical version of the Sub-Sahara. The eventual purpose of these miniatures is for use in their in-development skirmish game, Portals: Worlds Collide. In the meantime, they're an excellent choice of miniatures for your favorite flavor of pen & paper roleplaying game, as well as in games of Frostgrave, Kings of War, Open Combat and a variety of other 'minis-agnostic' games in the 28mm-32mm scale.

We are a growing tabletop gaming company producing a unique line of true 32mm scale fantasy miniatures inspired by various folklore around the world for our in-development skirmish game, Portals: Worlds Collide.

Here are some of the miniatures (and concept art) featured in the campaign.

[Skoga]

Skoga was collecting stones of interest for his mother when the skies flashed in vibrant, blinding colors. He writhed as his body changed violently - the child who had grown accustomed to being at the bottom of the heap in the games with the others was now a hulking beast, both capable of rendering an elder to shreds and unable to consider the consequences.

After marveling at his newfound strength and size, Skoga found a boulder bearing an especially alluring glimmer. Carrying it across his back, Skoga returned to his horrified mother - gifting her the rock present and smashing her into an unrecognizable corpse in the process.

Skoga carries with him the guilt of the event with him always, now using it as a source of rage with which to commit further atrocities against those he is ordered to slay in battle.

Size - 28mm to the top of the head [provided with 40mm base].

Sculptor - 'Zorro'.

[Gor]

Gor was immensely violent even before being transformed by the opening of the portals into the creature that he now is - unlike many of the others who have been termed 'Brutes', Gor was ecstatic for the change in his stature and raw power. Any who had wronged Gor in his past - older brothers, despondent friends - were soon found and made to regret ever angering him. Many found their lives cut short and those who didn't face life as a cripple, some missing limbs from the revenge attack.

Gor was soon after put into the front lines where his formidable strength and ability to utterly destroy soon earned him the status of a hero amongst many Dameeri, despite his unrestrained violent nature.

Size - 34mm to the top of the head [provided with 40mm base].

Sculptor - 'Zorro'.

[Brakka]

"Cut down like wheat before a scythe, we were unable to stop this monstrosity" - Vuk.

Brakka is the first to enter the fray, and the last to leave it - often mangled and bleeding, and always with an impressive amount of slain foe. In battle, Braka cares not for his own wellbeing but rather he welcomes grievous injury, using the pain ensued to put him into a blood frenzy which enables him to fight with even more ferocity when at the brink of death than at the outset of the battle.

Size - Approx. 85mm to the top of the head [provided with a 90mm scenic resin base].

Sculptor - Kamil 'Smok' Milaniuk.

[Shakia]

"A strange creature dressed in plumage and shining items that seemed to denote a level of posterity amongst its peoples - we saw it skirting our flanks, seemingly ignoring our presence entirely as it dug up and carried across its back the magical Skavda" - Yaroslava.

Although a good deal smaller than many of his Grum kin, Shakia knows of the value of Skavda and focuses his time on that rather than engaging with the foe directly - often hurrying towards the contested resource and bringing it back with him during encounters with the enemy rather than outright attacking. His armored plates have kept him protected from more than one gun wound from the accursed soldiers of the invaders - an aspect that has kept him alive far longer than many of those he fights alongside expected this spellweaver to last.

Size - Approx. 35mm to the top of the head [provided with a 50mm base].

Sculptor - This miniature will be sculpted by Kamil 'Smok' Milaniuk.

This project launches in only a few short days on Tuesday, July 31st and I'd appreciate your support (whether directly to the kickstarter campaign when it launches by sharing with those who you think might be interested) so that we can make these miniatures for you all

Sincerely,
Jared Anderson of Deraj Studios

[C&C welcome]

That pangolin is pretty neat! I like your general concept - good luck and I'll keep an eye on it.

Thank you! There's other creatures based around Sub-Saharan species, including this one:

Yrsla

Launching in just a couple of hours!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
We're live!

Here's a couple of the miniatures from it, Brakka and Gursk!

Both stand at approx. 85mm to the top of their heads and are provided with scenic resin 90mm round lipped bases! They're designed to be somewhat modular, if you get both it should be easy to swap out parts (or even magnetize) to be able to make two crosses between the two characters for your own hippo character =D
