Sup boys,

Havent been on in a long time bc of life but im ready to dive back into the HH. I am currently on "Vulkan Lives", however at the rate the books are coming out and the amount I still ahve to read, I am getting anxiety. I love the HH universe and enjoy the fluff. I know some books are more fluff than storyline soooooooo I was wondering who can give me the core books i need to keep the storyline going.

I will fill up other books throught the time but I want to get a core storyline.

Core books imo

The Silent War: Chosen of the Sigillite (anthology)
The Unremembered Empire
Praetorian of Dorn: Alpha to omega
The Master of Mankind: War in the webway
Tallarn: War for a dead world
Ruinstorm: Destiny unwritten
The Burden of Loyalty

You'll note I've skipped quite a lot and in the other books there are some great stories, sub plots and arcs. However those 7 above imo drive the main story towards the actual battle for Terra.
The others are either continuation of sub plots (Vulkas arc, Khans arc, Maggys arc or are stand alone-ish novels - such as pharos dying light).

I'd say outside the first three there aren't really "core" books.

Find a specific arc/legion you like and read the books involved there. There is no "main storyline" to follow. it splits ino several. Imperium secundus, shattered legions, etc.

That said Wolfsbane, Crimson King ,and Master of Mankind might be your stuff considering your profile pic.

yeah I agree. the best thing to do is ID what your intreasts lie towards. For example I've been mostly skipping the shattered legions stuff but a Iron Hands player might look at me like I was crazy for doing so.

I'd add Wolfsbane and Slaves of Darkness to that list.

You'd need the White Scars arc as well.

Can give a +1 to Master of Mankind. Just finished it, and I thought it was good throughout, and some moments were actually quite stunning. Highly recommend it - especially for a bit of insight into the Emperor's mindset
