Infiltrating Broodlord

Hi all.
As in the title I’m asking my self if an Icon of Despair mighty be a useful add to the following list:
- Champion, Plague Sword, Plasma Pistol, LEADER. 16 pts
- Fighter, Flail of Corruption, ZEALOT. 19 pts
- Fighter, Flail of Corruption, COMBAT. 19 pts
- Gunner, Plague Spewer, Plague Knife, HEAVY. 19 pts
- Gunner, Blight Launcher, Plague Knife. 18 pts
- Poxwalker. 3 pts
- Poxwalker. 3 pts
So.. 7 models for the fluff.
97 pts total.
I was thinking about the possibility to give the Icon to the Leader.
Instead of an 8th Poxwalker.
I would like to know your not-Death Guard-players opinion

Every molecule will be useful
6000+ pts NIDS

May I ask why you are interested in on a non-death guard player opinion? Why not settle for a DG player who has played with or without the icon?

There hasnt been much talk about the icon in the death guard tread.
That might be an indication.
Veterans dont get their ld affected by it.
Space marines can reroll nerve tests.
It could be good in certain scenarios, but useless in the first rounds of the game maybe.
In the late stages of the game, some armies are already stunned from breaking and stuff so i do t know how much it does then either.
Im not saying its bad or good, im just listing some thoughts since its nice to get some discussion.

I don't think you can take the icon on the leader, I think it can only be taken by a normal Plague Marine.

Correct, it's not an option for the Plague Champion, Fighter or Gunner, only a bog-standard Marine.

I'm not sure about it and my death guard opponent brings one all the time, against low leadership models it *could* factor in. But TBH I've never had it effect me (primarily guard player)
It's one of those things that when I first played against death guard, looked really threatening, but then the guy with the plasma gun looked more threatening, and all of sudden his poxwalkers were re-animating my dead guys, and that powerfist was in my face. So tbh, there were other things out there that were more threatening, because ultimately, if I have no one left to take nerve tests, he's kinda the least of my worries.
If you have a few points left over it probably can't hurt. But tbh your special weapons look better than the icon.
