Here's a very old Reaver Titan that I got to do recently. It was made by Armorcast way back in the day- and was essentially just an up-scaling of the old Epic scale titan from the time.

That makes these old titans into a bit of a challenge. Just the size of the rivets and general lack of smaller details makes it hard for them to fit in with more current 40k minis. They can very easily end up looking like an old action figure more than a 40k mini.

The trick I've learned is that having some small details added in the painting- especially with the battle damage- goes a long way to making them fit in with a force.

It really is a FAR superior model to the current version.
It's oozing with charm and Character, which is far more important than microscopic details.

Great work!

Just goes to show that with a talented painter, ugly models can look great, too!

Nice work. I've seen some people really transform some of the old Armorcast stuff. While the current Reaver is my favourite Titan of all 40K/HH...this old fellow has some charm.

Yeah- the old minis definitely had their charm.

I don't think there's much point in comparing it to the current Forge world Reaver- both present very different challenges to a painter.

The Eldar Phanton and the Ork Gargant were always the best Armorcast models, but this is a beautiful Reaver!

Good to see the Reaver Titan - Armor Cast model getting expert paint work treatment!

The double headed axes make Me think about 2nd Edition 40K!

Thank You for sharing! :-)
