Looking to get some nice new brushes in the hope it'll inspire me to start painting again. What's the top of the range these days? I got a Winsor and Newton Kolinsky brush which was quite nice before, but I just stumbled across Broken Toad; who also look quite nice. What are the other options and your opinions?

I’ve got some Rosemary & Co brushes that are really nice and holding up well to extended use.

Da Vinci Maestro series 10 (thin) for detail work and 11 (full belly) for general usage. They're up at the top end of brushes, I've been using them for a bit and will likely not re-buy the now pretty work-worn WN-7

In 10 a 0-1-2 and a 11 #2 will do pretty well if you paint big stuff by hand maybe a 11 #3

I am by no means a professional painter. I would say a little better than table top. I bought a 5 brush set from green stuff world and they are awesome. They only cost about 15-20 dollars and I have used the largest 2 extensively ad they last well.

Rosemary and Co. is UK based and highly thought of by almost everyone I've seen who is an established painter. I think the Kolinki Sable Series 33 and something like that is the range you'd be interested in.
