Dan Verssen games is putting out the third installment of Warfighter: Modern. This time expanded rules for night missions in North Korea.

The Shadow war is stand alone game, but can be combined with the other modern times Warfighter games.

Co-op card game for 1-6 players who take part of a modern SpecForces team on a mission. Recruit soldiers, equip them with weapons, ammo and equipment and go on a selected mission (in this game night mission into hostile NK territory).

So far Warfighter: Modern has introduced soldiers from USA, UK and Russia to go against adversaries in South america (drug cartels), Middle east (choise to go against insurgents or regular soldiers) and (unnamed) East European adversary.

This, the 3rd KS, introduces even more playable countries (Israel, Germany, Canada and even Poland) to go against more adversaries (North Korea, China).

So, if you have ever wanted to send those Canadian soldiers into North Korea, now is your chance...

Ooh, almost forgot: there is a K9 and handlers add on pack if you want to take doggies with you! No info yet if that pack is for US forces only or includes UK and Russian doggies too.

That is actually most interesing card pack for me in this KS altough the new expanded night fighting rules sound interesting too (the night fighting was introduced first in the previous KS, but now those rules are expanded here).

So, doggies and night missions, what's not to like?

Also forgot to mention: there is add on box for the Private Military Contractor setting too:

"You're in Iraq. It's 2003. The country is swarming with civilian companies hired hired by the US government to rebuild the infrastructure. The US military has its own in-country priorities. It's up to your Private Military Company (PMC) and your team of mercenaries to provide the tactical security and escort firepower needed to keep the construction teams alive. All while fulfilling your personal goals for being there. And of course, making a few bucks to provide for your retirement once the shooting stops!"

Since the game was funded in day 1, everybody gets this "early bird" expansion. This is the kind of early bird I like. It was tied to whether the game funds in the first day, but once reached everybody (who pledge for operator or above) will have it.

I have the results of the last chamber: You are a horrible person.
That's what it says: A horrible person...
We weren't even testing for that.

So, a thought occured to me... Since the KS will add many more countries to the squad selection (US, UK, Soviet, Israel, Canada, Germany, Poland... and Australia if we reach that goal), I could just select one fighter from each country and I can play a Rainbow Six game!

Also, my question was answered in the comments. The K9 and Handlers deck will include doggies and soldiers from multiple countries and not just the US. I hope one of the dogs name is Riley.

One SG down: South American drug lords get now some elite soldiers. So now you can choose between 2 difficulty levels in the jungle, like you could choose between militants and regular soldier opponents in the desert before.

Looks like this set includes playable Mexican soldiers!

Not many (any?) Warfighter players here?

So, some pictures were added to the site: Chinese, Nork and african warlords (I prefer lords of war) adversaries. The African region is a new one.

New add on, card dividers, added. These are meant to go in the Footlocker from the previous kickstarter (you can purchase it in this kickstarter too).

Two new pledge levels added for those who aren't interested in the night operations, but are interested getting either the PMC or the Warfighter: Modern base game (i.e. daylight operations). In the PM you can choose to get any of the add ons invidually if you are not interested in any of the combos (because the combos contain mixed night operations and daylight operations add ons).

Looks like we finally breached the next SG at 70.000. So, a mounted map board and a 4th card deck added to the Shadow war base game (so more soldiers, adversaries, equipment and what not added.)

Well, yeah. Wouldn't do it if I didn't like the game...

But isn't it customary that a person who started a KS thread will keep the thread rolling also?

Australian soldiers unlocked. Now heading for the Night ops against pirates (so, is this Ninjas vs Pirates game mode?)

Another $60 add on pack announced. You can buy some of these $15 each in PM instead if the whole pack is not something you want. More heroes and adversaries for the night fighting game.

Something special is coming too... announced soon. The previous KS had ww2 zombies added, so this might be a similar stuff? For the night is dark and full of terrors!

70 hours to go.

SG reached (night assault on a ship)

Next SG is night assault on an oil rig!

Also, the big add on is revealed... storage box and neoprene mat for Shadow war.

30 hours to go. We are closing on the Oil rig mission pack.

Not sure we have time to reach anything after that, but I'm hoping the Oil Rig mission will be reached. I had some fun times in CoD storming an oil platform, so I think it's nice to be able to repeat that mission in Warfighter too! We can even take our K9 doggies with us!

Final 13 hours to go.

Oil Rig mission pack is reached.

Propably the final SG is announced at 105K.

And it's finished.

Last SG was a mission book that will be included in the Shadow wars box.

Now I can stop updating this thread and let it die...
