Evenin' Dakka,

I started another, rather unfocused, thread today before taking the time to figure out what I was actually asking. Please ignore it (although Thanks @Gremmer for responding anyway!)

I think it would be cool to combine a pure Primaris Battalion (my own chapter) with a smaller detachment of AM tanks (from my own regiment) in a slightly more realistic Imperial Soup list. Think more "chicken and vegetable" than "cheeseburger and cornflakes" (although, I would totally buy that soup if I could get it at Tesco...).

This is partly because I'm not keen on the Repulsor, but also that I love all the AM Vehicles, especially the Baneblade derivatives.

Thoughts? What weaknesses in an all-primaris list would AM tanks cover?

Would you go for Hellhounds to flame out giant squads? A Baneblade as a distraction carbides*? Or a bunch of the giant one-shot missile launchers I can't remember the name of(death strike?!)?

Let me know your thoughts!

Cheers,
Neil

*(Distraction CARNIFEX ffs...)

Personally, i'd start off with a couple of Leman Russes. Big and tough, but suffer if they get locked in combat, but they will provide a decent amount of high damage shots.

After that, you can't really go wrong with Basilisks.

It all depends on what kind of split you are looking for, points/looks wise.
50/50 or, 75/25 in terms of Primaris/Guard.
